I just tryed my new Toyota Prius TC (from the DLC) which is a hybrid car and I just noticed it is like a kart because it only has a drive gear (D) and a reverse gear (R) how ever it is a good car. So the question is do ALL GT5 hybrid cars have a D gear and a R gear or not?

The CR-Z is a hybrid and has full gears. What it also has is an annoyingly low range electric motor that will always result in it running out of power far too quickly and then you losing power as a result.

For me in the "FF" races (the first lot) the "D" gear is better then having gears "1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6/7 because it doesn't loose speed when changing gear which it doesn't have with a "D" and "R" gear.

I think the D gear is PD's way of simulating a CVT. I think the premium Honda Insight has a lone drive gear stock, but yet you can change the transmission in the tuning shop.

D gear is kinda dangerous too. You must pay attention when to brake, otherwise.... :scared:

Agree with this. I'd prefer full gear car over D cars any day. The only D car I can think of that I enjoy is the Citroen Concept. I know with the Citroen though, the electric motor dies quickly. I bet it's similar on the Tesla although I never drive the Tesla. But with the Prius and CRV they'd last longer than electric cars since their hyvrids I suppose. Then again probably everyone knows what I've just said :D

Actually the Prius and CR-Z will go further no matter what given they can actually be refueled. The CR-Z uses regenerative braking to recharge its battery but most of the time the amount of full throttle you have to apply beats it.

I actually enjoy driving the Prius TC though due to how funny it actually is in so many ways  Even if it's not that great to drive.

Same, how ever the sound does get on your neves because it sounds as if you need to change but you cant because it's only got "D" and "R" gears not "1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6/7".
