Now this title may be slightly off putting, however The hybrids I'm refering to are the Toyota Aqua/Prius C, Honda insight LS 09', Insight 99' that all have surprisingly good sounding exhaust and a decent amount of pep. So many people complain about the sounds, but these 3 cars show off just how interesting PD are sometimes, sadly I have no good way of recording clips of these cars, but upgrade their exhaust and give them a whirl for a nice little surprise, and if you find any other hybrids or unusual cars with sporty exhaust notes, give them a post.

It is well known that once in a blue moon PD can give imaginary cars good sounding exhaust notes.

I don't understand this OP at all...

Hybrid cars sound good?

That car is almost a direct copy of the R10....

In no way is it "unique"
How so? In stock tune it is more stable, has lower acceleration, obviously lighter, less powerful and has lower torque than the R10. Physically in real life and in game they're entirely different. Sure, the sound is similar but otherwise they're unique vehicles.

The R10 was carried directly over from 5
The R18 is a new premium made for 6's physic engine, so handling wise, no (I should've made that clear on the original post)
The sound however, is a direct copy..

Oh yeah, I see what you're saying and I agree. Regardless neither car is a hybrid so they have no place in this discussion. My apologies OP.

However seeng how they both equally suck when compared to their dominating performance IRL (which is ironic because they are probably the two worst LMP's in the game) it is surprisingly shocking to see PD make things for GT which don't correlate with reality..

Well, there is always sounds..
And tire wear
Fuel wear
AI
Scenery
Horizon textures
And just too many things not worth mentioning, because PD will never bother or care to fix..

Well, the R10 can do 3:30 around La Sarthe with some practice. Surely the 3:24 ish that it was able to do in real life wouldn't be difficult with some tuning. The R18 on the other hand, 3:26? Not happening, nope. A mega GT6 pro would have a problem getting a 3:30 with it. Can we take this whining to an appropriate thread?

Concepts and electric/hybrids often receive the "touch of detail" that PD give out to special cars sometimes. Some of them sound nice even stock.

I wish we had the car in my avatar available to play with

What? You should check out the R10 again I think
The R18s in the game are not the hybrid e-tron model.
Car in the game is the 2011 car, not the E-tron Quattro of later seasons.
Yep; thats true, I always forget the R18 has a TDI and a Hybrid version. I always think of the R18 as the e-tron hybrid only...

Might be a stupid question but I haven't bought the car in GT6 yet... does the Prius touring car still have a CVT transmission or can you change it for a 'normal' one? I like the car but found the droning revs a little annoying in GT5...

It still has the CVT Transmission. Not sure if you can change it out for a regular one, but I get the feeling you can't.

That's a shame... it's a really cool car but I have to have music on in the background to drive it!

Though they probably sound the same as the e-tron quattro without the flywheel whine. ;)

Having seen these in the flesh, *all* you can hear is that whine. a silent monster that eats corners is pretty frightening.....much prefer the Toyota's racket tbh!

I just can't get along with the Prius. At least the Honda CR-Z is saxxy looking and fun to throw around curves. And I know this makes me something of a Gran Turismo heretic around here, but sounds are the last thing I want PD improving or providing. So many other things would be much cooler, like the Event Maker, Course Maker, Race Mod, Livery Editor, online club and league builder tools...

@RACECAR and @danardif1 , Priuses don't have a CVT, they have no transmission at all, the drive wheels are more or less directly attached to the engine. and @Tenacious D although the regular prius is boring (was fun swapping it with an RX7 chassis in GT5 since their wheelbase is the same. but in GT6 it's just boring, the Prius C (in game Aqua) which is a Yaris with Prius drivetrain is actually kinda quick and sounds cammed at 1-2k rpm.
