Pardon my ignorance if I'm incorrect, but I think I may have stumbled upon something really fun, if you're bored and up for a challenge.

Basically what happened was I was bored, so I messed around with some set-ups and went drifting around Tskuba. Drifting occurred...obviously. As I came around the final bend and hit the straight I wondered, what if I try a reverse entry, but in the complete opposite direction. Basically a hybrid of a reverse entry and a feint drift or Scandinavian flick. What happened was the car spun about 100 degrees to the left, and then spun back about 145 degrees, hitting the apex and successfully drifting the first corner.

What am wondering is, has anybody else done this before.

Also, I'm a new member, so be light with the criticism.

Yeah, it does happen to me ocassionally, having a loose car makes it easier to happen :D

You didn't save the replay?

I did save it, but I'm not sure how I could get it off my PS3 besides recording my TV with a camera. Unfortunately I have standards when it comes to uploading videos and if the video looks like it was filmed with a toaster, it wasn't made by me :p.

I know pretty much nobody knows me here, but if you want to transfer the replay file to a flash drive and then to a computer you can send it to me and I can capture it for you, I actually have my test video I'm about to upload as soon as it gets finished rendering. Just a thought!

The event in context sounds interesting though, I want to see it..

There's a video of someone doing it in a Camaro or a Cobra (I can't remember) on the first corner of suzuka. Just search GT5 reverse entry drifting on youtube and try to find it. I'll post it here tomorrow if no one else does.

A hybrid drifter eh? What car did you use?

I didn't mean hybrid as in a hybrid car, I meant hybrid as in two types of drift in one. But if I could drift in a Prius, or a Leaf, I so would, just to piss people off :sly:

So you turn the car left to the opposite to the turn, slide then bring the nose back to the front and drift around the corner?

Thats what I was thinking. To be honest doesnt look like a reverse entry at all, your to far away from the corner entry to begin with.

Big scandanavian flick really. I'm on my phone so I can't see if the video above is the one I mentioned, but in the one I was speaking of, the driver went well over 90° to the left then spun back around in the opposite direction and took a right turn. I'll post the vid when I get home.

Yeah that's basically what it is now that I think of it :p, a Scandinavian flick that goes over 90degrees to the left and then swing it back around for the corner.

This is the right way to do what he was trying. Almost 180° the opposite direction, then swinging the front end back into the corner.

I'd pay to see someone do a reverse entry with a hybrid LOL  !

This is exactly what I did, thanks for sharing the video :]!

If only we could do drivetrain conversions or engine swaps in this game, the beasts I would make, like the Smart Car with the Hyabusa engine in it!

I've legitimately drifted an i-MiEV so... it could probably be done and since it's fwd once you kick the back end around you just need to floor it and hope the wheels slip.

i-MiEV is mid-engined and rear-wheel drive.

I'm gonna need to make it an actual drift car then. I thought it was front wheel drive this entire time.

Just from watching it the first time I noticed because of the quickness that he spun back that he did it with racing tires. Plus he straightened out before entering the corner instead of keeping it all in one smooth motion. So no big deal really on that entry from the Cobra. I would like to see him try that on comforts hards. Just saying.

Well, I did it on CH tires, and it took a few but there was a smooth motion, why didn't they make it so I can export the replay to a USB and upload :[!!

Yours I can see from the pic that it was smooth & since you did it on comfort hards is yet better. 👍 Just was talking about the Cobra video, anyone with racing tires can do a mega e-brake to the left, then turn the tires to the left to snap back quick, but it takes real skills to do what the Cobra did BUT with comfort hards.

I've been in a room with what you described.
However they were using Nissan GTRs so its way too easy and not as impressive.
They were using RS at front and RI at the rear as they said this method worked best drifting a GTR or any high powered AWD car.

Pause at :04. It says Sports: Hard in the top left. Not as easy and Racing tires of as difficult as Comforts, but still pretty hard.
