The thought occurs to me that in GT3 you have all these marvellous race tracks. Then you have some which are exclusive to licence tests - and I'm thinking the two circle tracks (well, three... One of them is wet) specifically, but there are others too.

Anyone know offhand of any way to get to these tracks? The circle ones in particular are useful - as you can test, roughly, the lateral g force the car can pull (very useful in picking cars for OLR).

I'm not even sure it's possible, but hey :D

Yes, but the tracks - in theory - are stored within the game somewhere. That's what led me to the thought it might be possible. If it WAS possible, it'd probably be a Gameshark-only thing, I'd imagine.

I wonder if they left all the cars in GT3, in GTC, that they left all the tracks in as well. That would give the game a new leash of life.

Mind you didn't GT2 have a corner simmilar to Eau rouge (I think) at spa, where it was a blind corner?

I think that was one of the licence tests - in a 1998 TS020 I think. The surrounding scenery was reminiscent of Apricot Hill - in the same way the circle tests are reminiscent of SSR5/11 and SSR5 Wet...

Do you just want to be able to drive that licence in any car?
Or a car in your garage?

I'm sure some AR expert could do it, but i'm no AR expert. :dunce:

Not highly bothered about running the licences - just the tracks. I'm sure it would be possible to replace, say, Super Speedway in Arcade Free Run track selection with a licence-exclusive course to just drive round... :D

Then again, maybe not.. :D

Well it sounds plausible anyway, I remember there was a code to run the 1/4 mile on the test course in 2 player for GT2. So it would just be sort of re-directing the selected track to the licence one.

Or something....

I had a thread Exactly like this about a year ago, as you know GT2 tracks have been messed with, like the huge camel hump on the Test Course, I dont think it will happen.;)

you said it yourself - "stored within the game". not somewhere but in memory. in code of instructions or places (which may be removed - but in our case not able to be replaced). it's not a simple as a color change on a car which is a "soft" option in the game whereas the track you race is a "hard" option. make sense?

It would be possible if we had a GS Pro like device so we could see the in game memory. The guys at the big code companies could do it with their equipmet if they wanted to take the time, and knew what they were doing.

No the game uses procedures, almost like a person uses an Agenda or Itenerary. If you could translate the binary code of 1's and 0's it would say something like this scenario:

*You want to race on the Test Course with your RGT*
Get "TEST COURSE" from place (or folder or whatever) X.
Get car from place Y.

The information is permanately stored on the disk. There are smaller programs on the disk that tell the PS2 where to get everything. Kind of like the signs at the Grocery store isle's that tell you what is in the isle and you have a grocery list of what to get. You would have to reprogram some things to tell the computer to use the Circle tracks instead of a different track.
