So, here goes the most irrational, impractical thing I've ever done. A few years ago, I was given a ride in a 350Z. After I put my heart back in my chest, I decided that it was one sweet ride, and I wouldn't be too sad to own one. Fast forward 8 years, and out came the 370Z. When I first saw it in magazines, I fell in love. It just looks like an angry sports car, and the performance numbers are stellar. Since January, it's been itching. Today, I finally scratched:

It's the base model with the sport package, which throws in 19" wheels, rear spoiler, and the Synchro-Rev manual transmission. This isn't a particularly useful feature for around-town driving, but it's fun to play with, and it can be turned off. The S-R will be a nice tool to learn the correct downshift points. Once I'm more comfortable driving it, it should be a nice car to heel-toe with :D. Behind the wheel, it just feels like a car should. The steering and gearbox effort is heavy, and there is beaucoup power everywhere in every gear. Of course, I'm not used to 330 hp, so maybe it just seems fast right now :). Is it practical? No. Is it necessary? No. Was this a wise decision? Probably not. I was planning on buying a house soon, but now I'm confined to my apartment for another year or two. But after 20 years of car-worshipping, the little boy inside can stop crying...he has his toy.

My beloved Mazda3 retains duty as a grocery-hauler, long-distance cruiser, and adverse-weather handler. Now, after piling on 54,000 miles in 2.5 years, it can finally catch its breath.

I'm still up in the air on the styling of the 370Z, it does look a lot better in black though then other colours. I also really like those rims, the concave styling is just awesome.

I'm glad to hear that it drives real well, I haven't really heard any first hand opinions on it yet. Best of luck with it and congrats!

**Oh and I love the thread title, very cheeky 👍.

Well, it's not my kind of car but I sincerely hope you enjoy that car. Everyone's got their dream car and not everybody gets the opportunity to drive, much less, own that car.

Congratulations! You've bought your dream car, so smile and make the best of it!

Nice one 👍 The styling of the 370 has definitely grown on me and I reckon you've picked the best colour for it too. I'm sure you won't tire of the power too soon!

Pity the interior is completely, unremittingly grey! Would look way better with some red seats or something...

Nice looking car, enjoy the 300+ RWD ponies. Nissans are one of the few import brands I really like.

The interior is black. It doesn't photograph real well in cloudy weather (throws the white balance off). I have the same problem with photographing the interior of my Mazda.

Welcome to the family! Beautiful car, and the best color for it. 👍

Any thoughts on modding it at all? Its addictive once you start, but if you plan on starting, I can name a few websites that will be happy to take your money.

Nice!

I hope it treats you well, and you don't abuse it... too much ;)

I think I'm gonna leave it alone. When I caught the mod bug with the 3, I became addicted, and the car ended up being rather rowdy . I can see this car swallowing untold sums of money if I start to tinker with it :D.

While I'm less than thrilled with the work that goes into keeping a black car looking nice, That is one sweet looking ride.
Congrats, and enjoy.

Unfortunately, it's already been run through the rain . Sadly, I don't control the weather around here.

So you finally did get some rain after I left. Good luck keeping it and the Mazda clean and looking nice.

Sweet ride though. I've always liked those Zs. Good to see that somebody on a similar career path is already getting to enjoy things like these. 👍 Have fun with it!

Nice purchase.👍 I think the RWD V6 2 door sports car is my ideal category of car, I just wish Holden had one in this category.:(

Wow, I always loved the looks of that 370. Take care of it, and don't wrap it around a tree. Because I'll find you.

Glad to see someone is able to fullfill their dream of owning a sports car.
Great handling and not underpowered. Nice choice 👍

Very nice! I have only seen one 370Z so far. Have heard nothing but good about the 370Z so much that I want one.

So.......... you followed your heart 👍 Dont feel bad about it (as long as you can afford it) :)

Nice ride.

AMG.

Trust me, I have no intention of wrapping it around a tree. I've already had three young'n's pull up alongside in their Civic/Gti/Integras, wanting me to race. I'll have no part of that (except at the dragstrip :trouble:).

It was either this or a house. Can't do both...I made my decision, and I'll stand by it :D.

Hehe love the thread title.. Anyway, congrats on the car and have fun owning it! :) Save up for that house so you can garage the two of them! :sly: Randy

I'm not too far down the waiting list for a garage unit at my apt complex, so I will at least be able to keep one cozy and dry during the rainy season .

 Gorgeous Z!! Amazing in black! Heard one nearly floor it yesterday- and heard one floor it when they first came out- and they sound incredible. Congrats and enjoy! 👍-kevin

Scared of getting embarrassed?

Convenient that you got it just in time for the rain, too.

In your area? Only one? You're in Melbourne right? I've seen a few already. That's wierd.:boggled:

Beautiful car mate and in the best colour IMO. I'm very envious...
