Ok , I know u guys remember this.

Back in grade school..

Its a cold day, low 30's.
early in the morning waiting for the bus.
some kid comes up to the bus stop with no jacket on, only a shirt
other kids ask him how comes hes not wearing a jacket
he says hes "Im from New York and it aint cold"..


even up to now, ppl say that BS

Im from NY, but when its around 30, its COLD..
it just pisses me off when ppl say that..

u guys ever encountered ppl like this?
 
I'm a person like this...I hate cold unless its snowing. I dont care if you are from NY, other people may not be used to cold like you. Me being one of them.
 
Well it's quite cold here most of the year. (probably because we are so close to Antartica)

I think i am used to the cold as i don't like temperatures above 25-30°C.

So to answer your question, i haven't encountered anyone like that. I don't think. O_o

And do you think you could type out 'people' instead of 'ppl' next time? It would only take a few more seconds of your time...
 
Haha thats funny. My mom says one of her co-workers always shows up to work in shorts, no matter what the temperature. They just closed our schools down today. I live in Atlanta, and they say its the coldest its been in 10 years (8 degrees!), so here I am sitting at home posting this message at 7:15 in the morning. Could definitely use the day off.

They closed the school because it's eight degrees?! :rolleyes: *pft* Wussies.
 
I think i'm used too the cold aswell.
Not that i'm one of those people who wears their summerjacket all year though.
I just don't like temperatures above 25 degrees Celsius.
My body just likes the cold better.
 
30 = cold?



mind you.. if you live in britain. youd be lucky to get it any higher than 20. unless its the summer. which is warm anyway. or am i talking about a different scale of temperature to everyone else (degrees C) ;)
 
Some people are talking farenheight and some are talking celcius. All I know is that in the Phoenix Summer my thermometer in the Jeep does both F and C, and 45 C is very hot.

Man I had to go to school today, I live in Gwinnett County, I had to go yesterday too. But 10 degrees in Atlanta isnt all that bad unless the wind was blowing which made the temp feel like -8 because of the wind chill.

I'm pretty used to the cold. However, I'm becoming more and more aware of how much I dislike it now. I've come to notice how much the body can change in it's ability to bear certain temperatures. A while ago, I was living in the middle of the Colorado Rockies where we experience very cold temperatures at 8150 feet of altitude. We have perpetual snow from November to April, so I had grown quite accustomed to a cold climate. Then, I had moved to Northern Virginia where summer temperatures can reach into the high 90's F. With a healty dose of humidity to go with it. Coming from that cold climate to such a warm climate I found that I just couldn't tollerate the warm weather. It really affected me. But after being in the Virginia area for several years, I still hated the heat but I found it becoming a bit more bearable. Now, I have returned to the cold climate of the Colorado Rockies and I have come to find that my tolerance for the cold weather that I used to have is no more. I can feel my tolerance to the cold slowly returning to me as I am now able to go out on all but the coldest of days wearing only a vest, where as before, I would really have to bundle up to remain warm. So I can certainly attest to those people out there that have lived in a colder climate most of there lives that they can become used to the cold.

No i don't, but i remember seeing that listed in the ToS a while ago in another topic, so i thought i'd point it out.

And i'm also used to asking people not to use 'chat talk' in my forums.
 
Cold is something your body gets used to more than anything. I work outside, and in all honesty yesterday was the first day I've ever worn gloves. (-20 to -30 below with the wind chill.)
After about half an hour your body begins to heat itself naturally, and with the 5-10 degree (-12 to -15 Celcius for non-US members) weather I rarely wear more than Jeans, a shirt with a tight fabric weave to block wind fro the skin, a slightly thicker shirt for insulation, and a Fleece.
That combo will get me down to about 0 (-18 Celcius) if there isn't a heavy wind.
Oh, and wear a warm hat, and spare no expense on boots. If the head or feet are cold you are finished.
 
I love the cold, when i lived in WV, i used to go out in the snow in shorts and a t-shirt. hell, i look around down here in central florida with this recent "cold" spell, and everyone is wearing parka's it seems like.

Man, do i wish it would snow in florida:D
