I can't actually get online

Hello, my GT5 no longer let's me join any online lobbies. I click on a good lobby with a nice connection, and then the loading bar shows up. The loading bar only shows it has loaded a teeny-tiny amount before sticking. It stays stuck for about two minutes. After politely waiting I get a 'connection timed out' error message that stops me from joining the lobby at all.

It's infuriating. Ever other game I have works fine online. My NAT, internet speed and wireless connection are all fine. GT5 used to work fine, it's only recently gone to pot. Anyone have any idea what's going on?

Me too--- seems like it stated happening after the last update. I can start a seasonal and I'll lose the connection while racing. I can complete the race and collect points and prize money and even restart the race and do over multiple times. But if I want to do another course or different seasonal I have to sign in all over. And even then it'll kick me out pretty quick. I clean the cache all the time. No problems before that update a couple of weeks ago.

It doesn't let you get in any lobby... I believe it's because of the NAT type that've to be in 1 or open.

Seasonals work just fine for me. Now you've said it, it does seem to be since the last update... hopefully it will get fixed soon. I love doing offline time trials on GT5, so I won't get bored with it :)

Reset your router - problem solved.

Ah, reading that reminded me of something else.

There was a few weeks where I didn't play GT5. In that time I replaced my router and there was that GT5 update...

Something tells me one of those things is to blame, a couple of people have had the same problems since the update so it could just be that... any ideas on what I can do to check it isn't my router?

Make sure to open the ports for the ps3 and/or GT5. Maybe a fixed IP and DHCP down. Depends on your network and knowledge. But ports are important.

I've had this problem. In seasonals it's happened. And just earlier, it did it when I was online with my own room on my own track, it then froze and I had to reset the game. And I have a horrible feeling that this guy is going to claim my track for his own and get all the credit for it (because it is actually a pretty good track). Wait, can someone do that???

Before update 1.10, I could get online and play in any lobby. Now, I'm disconnected from the server as I'm entering a room or on a free run :grumpy:
