I can't even play in Arcade mode while in a championship?

Okay, I know that there are a lot of things that you can't do while in a championship ... like buy new tires or change your oil 👎 but I thought that at the very least I could take a break and go and play in the Arcade Mode while leaving my GT mode in it's current condition ... but apparently I can't???

I'm trying to complete the GT Championship in the Professional hall, but with it being 11 moderately long races, I'm finding that my commitments to other race series completely conflict with this ... I can't seem to find the time to run all the races in one sitting, but it's like I can't split them out over the period of a week either, not unless I completely stop playing any other aspect of the game.

Is there some way around this?

You can change your oil during any championship

I never tried to go into arcade mode while being in a champ so I dunno about that one...

I hit the 'back' button to exit GT mode and have the choice of entering Arcade Mode, and it wouldn't let me. (The oil subject comes from jump_ace and I didn't personally test it, but I was somewhat surprised when I coudn't buy different tires while in a championship ... I mean, I assume these races span days if not weeks, so why can't I have some flown in in the meantime?

Sloppy sloppy sloppy.

No you can't do much at all during a championship you can't even look in your garage. Some mates of mine and I couldn't play 2 player battle because I was in the formula gt championship which took me ages to complete. So we decided to play Gran Turismo 3 instead.

DYR, well, a few reasons.

1) You may want to grab a new set of tires ... perhaps a compound you don't currently own and want to apply to your race strategy.

2) Running a series may take a full week, but - like me - you're in weekly online competitions that require your attention elsewhere (I'm in the WRS and JGTC: see sig.). Essentially, I want to be able to race in Arcade mode every week, but I can't do that *AND* participate in a GT mode championship ... I therefore give up my online racing or I stop progressing in GT mode.

3) Just like Schumack said right above you ... you simply may want to go play with friends in Arcade mode .... and can't.

1. You can change your oil in most cars mid championship. (not the F1 cars as their oil does not suffer from wear).
You have two simple solutions.
1. Buy another memory card if you need to jump from a championship event to do something else.. Just back up from the PS2 browser and do not swap memory cards when saving.
2. Stop the weekly comps until you finish your championship event .
