I'm able to post replies to threads already going but I can't start my own. I'm able to start threads here (obviously!) and in the GT5P forum.

I'm using a mac and firefox if that makes any difference.

Help?

Ahh I see... I imagine there is a good reason for that rule. However, I'm sure you can understand I find that very frustrating, I've a point to make and I'm unable to.

I'm guessing it's to keep the forum from over heating with similar posts etc due to the amount of visitors.

Do I have to go to GameFAQs if I want to post about GT5? :(

Gran Turismo 5 (510 Viewing)
News, rumors, and speculation about the next big GT game. NOTE: New users cannot create threads in this forum until they have made 100 posts.

You have 15 posts.

Is the thread you'd intend to make genuinely worthy of a new thread or can it be discussed in one of the others?

I couldn't find a post relating to a concern I have. I wanted to ask what other people thought about the possibility of SE&CE addition cars eventually becoming DLC's.

I'd hate to pay all that money to get access to those cars only for people to later be able to download them for £3.50 or something.

I've seen it happen with other games, so I don't know whether to pay the extra cash and wanted other people's thoughts.

Thanks for your quick responses guys, sorry for not spotting the 100 posts thing.

Then I'd imagine the SE/CE thread would be an appropriate place to ask.

There has been no official word on DLC that I'm aware of, if it helps.

Everyone's a noob at least once. That's what we're here for :D

...he was when he posted an old Excel list back on the original granturismo.com boards! ;)

(I'm remembering this right, am I not, oh Indigo one?)

I think he was using his brand new Commode 64:sly:
As far as the cars being DLC when you get the game you get a code to guess what a free DLC for the cars so yes they are there. Being available to everybody later nobody knows yet.

They shouldn't be, otherwise where's the incentive of buying the CE?

Besides the obvious, obviously.

The first thing I remember doing online for GT was a race at Rome-Night back in GT2 on Kenji's site, which would have probably been back in early 2001.

I've made 102 posts as of now, yet the forum still won't allow me to create a new thread there. :odd:

You made 87 posts in 3 days? :odd:

The forum software updates a few times a day. Be patient and it'll be fixed shortly. It doesn't happen the second you make your 100th post.

I must say that rule is quite ridiculous. I mean sure flame people to hell who don't search before they ask (yeah I've done it before) but they shouldn't have to post a certain number of replies in order to allow them to post. I mean if someone has a genuine question and has searched through the forums and has found that it has not be asked before, he/she should be entitled to post! By making them work up a post count means they are only going to post meaningless and pointless responses to questions that they cannot be bothered to put any though into as they just want to get their post count up! come on guys...

Well you can ask a Moderator, and being GTplanet, we have the thread up before the article itself, and there's probably a thread for just about anything. If you can honestly think of something, post it in the Site Feedback, then tell a Mod to move it. And it's still in your name.

The chances that someone has a post to be made that can't fit into a new thread in the GT5 board are pretty slim, though. Right now I see two threads about our driver/avatar, at least 3 threads that focus on the release date, "When you get GT5... what's your plans", "Launch Day plans", "What will you do first in GT5" are all pretty similar, "What version of GT5 are you getting?" and "What edition of GT5 will you purchase" are identical... and that was only touching on the first 3 pages in that forum.

True, having a post count limit might lead some members to rush through 100 to gain the ability, but it's a necessary trade-off to keep the duplication to a minimum, IMO anyways.

You really should have been there before the rule was enacted. I bet you would be in support of the rule then. Just go back a few pages and you'll see how many locked threads there are in the GT5 section.

Now, if you have just a question that hasn't been asked, there is still no reason to make a new thread. Just ask it in the GT5 General Discussion Thread.

Also, I don't like the idea of starting a GT5 related thread, and then asking it to be moved. It would just give new members an excuse to make a bunch of GT5 threads in the Site Feedback forum.

The restriction isn't on posting in the GT5 forum. It's on making new threads in the GT5 forum. They can post in any existing thread in the GT5 forum with their genuine question for which they've searched.
