This does that kind of thing to guys, I guess.

550 Hp, 2,880 lbs, cute little body, 1.05 G on the Skidpad,10.99 1/4 and 3.3 0-60.

Why just stuff a 6.0 V-8 into a Kappa, when an LS7 fits just as well?

I love car guys.

...I just think it is amazing that the Kappa structure can handle the torque of the LS7. I remember when they were doing the CTS-V, they were having problems with the Sigma handeling the LS6's torque.

But hey, why not do it? May as well make a truely modern Cobra while we have the chance...

But, I want them to build a hardtop Solstice with the LS7 and call it the Cheetah, alike the racecar that has preceeded it.

...like TVR have been doing since the sixties ;)

👍 Here here. Nice car though it's front (including the headlights) is too bulbous for my liking.

The driver is Mark Stielow. He is the man! He is the guy that built the Mule. That guy can drive!👍

The rear of a Ferrari, the middle of a Corvette, and the front of a.....TVR Tamora or something...

It's pretty cool, but it looks a little small.

See why I was laughing like a madman?

I was standing in the store reading through the mag, and my girlfriend looks at me, and I'm just laughing."Those maniacs, they blew it up..."

Drift car, anyone?

They are actually going to campaign the Solstice GXP in Formula D this year, as the GTO is now out of production. Of course, it's no LS7 under the hood, but uses a highly-modified version of the ECOTEC I4 (although I'm not sure what variation) pushing 500HP.

And it looks very nice with the hardtop!

Not that much, apparently it has a 52/48 weight distribution, which isn't that far from the stock one.

The LS7 isn't a very heavy engine.

Why did they choose a convertible (or is there no hardtop option?)? It doesn't make any sense to me. Crazy idea though and very impressive numbers (obviously).

Not yet, right?

Interesting. Seriously. Isn't there a tuner that already has a Corvette engine swap for sale? I'm pretty sure that was posted a few months ago.

Even so, a swap is most fun if you do it yourself... I envy those guys. The time, the money, and the "hey, honey, it's my job... we have to do this... "

Oh... so it's a difference of mad and stark raving mad, right?

Still, cool stuff! 👍

I'm sure Mallet would swap the LS2 for the LS7 for the difference in engine prices, considering the two engines are both LS-series there won't be too many differences.
