Clicking GTP email links that is. I get spammed, bad. I receive several emails per new post. I went to lunch for a half hour and returned to thirty something emails. I keep getting notified of posts I read hours ago.

What's up with that? This has been happening for a while but it's worse today.
 
Could it be that GTP has sent the email out before you read the email, then you read the post, then hours later, your ISP provides the email to you after they have combed it for anti-government propaganda?

Could 'that' be what your experiencing? You can finally come clean and tell us….
 
It's called GTP Email Notification you can turn it off in your settings. Every thread you post in, whenever some one posts in it. You get an email notification. You can Set it off in your Control Panel :).

Hey milefile, when you turn off that feature, make sure and clear all your cookies to, cus if not it will keep sending you emails for the threads that you have still subscribed to.

Actually, this was something that was in the GTP version before this one, so I'm not sure if it holds true, but I do recall someone with this very same issue and as long as you subscribe to a thread, it will send you emails forever. Sorry man, I never subscribe to threads anymore.

I have it turned off.
Milefile. My advice is make a new email address.

I will receive multiple notices on occasion - particualrly when browsing a very active thread. It hasn't been much of a problem. Well, except when HMRCWG was active.:D

I don't subscribe to threads ever, I just go through the forums if I want to see the new posts...:p
 
I get that too, sometimes it's 1-per-post, other times I'll get one for every few posts. The E-mail says I'll only get that one untill I click the link. That makes it a lot easier to look at the posts in order, but I'm tired of my inbox getting stuffed if I don't check it a few times a day. Maybe Jordan can help with this.
 
I believe there were a few changes made to the mailing features in this latest version of vBulletin. I'll look into it and see what I can find.
 
Jordan- Whatever you did. It slowly stopped working. My inbox was absolutely jammed earlier. One for each post. It's a good thind that this is my "fun" address.
 
I can't help but wonder if it's just a bad cookie that's causing you trouble. Try logging out of the site, clearing your cookies, and then logging back in to see if the problem persists.
 
Considering the problems you had with the server today, I'll deal with my inbox for now. I guess it'll get straightened out once the new server is up & running.

Rat, have you clicked the "Unsubscribe from all threads" link on this page? Try that, it should stop the emails...
