Haven't bothered with online since the first month of the game. Found the whole thing had a few niggly problems that annoyed me. Is it worth giving it another look?

And I know I missed the punctuation in 'dont'

Yes, that is about 30% of the game.

Well it's basically the same as offline only against real people. I like it because there is drag, drift, or races and you get to see everyone else's cars. Also kinda like harder seasonals since there is pp races which will have you tuning your car to be the best it can be for that pp. I really wish I could play online bit sadly my Internet all the sudden has super weak connection and I get dropped non stop. I would say play a few races it can be very fun when you find a good room.

I don't either, but from what I hear IF you get a good bunch of like minded people it's better than offline. It's the "if" part of that sentence that stops me.

Unless it's an online league with great organisation and good, clean racers then the answer is no.
Not to mention the different physics.

If you want some clean racing action, just join my club if you want.;)

I have to agree. I have tried a few online races but to much "dirty" racing so I gave up. I have a few friends I get together with and that's working quite well as we race for the enjoyment and friendly competition.

If it wasnt for online racing, my copy of this game would be gone. It is all this game is about for me now and fantastic fun. Its easy to avoid the idiots, I have built up a group of racing friends and always have a great experience online, add me if you would like to recieve invites to clean mixed racing 3 times a week. Leagues and championships are also a great way to enjoy online gaming.

I love the online now after I started a series which attracted likeminded people. I do believe organisation on the hosts plays a big factor for the online series as well as the participants. If you have proactive participants and don't overstep their boundaries, it's the best. Another thing is to get your participants to be part of the organisation, so they feel like being a part of it.

Yes, that is about 98% of the game.

Fixt.

Dude, get yourself online and race. If you're not racing online, you're not experiencing the real racing that GT5 can offer. Offline against AI is seriously weak sauce.

Every time I play any game online (not just racing games), I find that I'm nowhere near good enough to be competitive. People who play online all the time prey on "newbies" like me, and that makes it no fun. Like others have said, if you're playing against friends or like-minded people, then it can be fun. otherwise, I play offline.

I was a noob online.. but no more.
I find online as the must fun I have in GT5... racing against real people instead of the AI.
Search for rooms with SRF off.. and find a clean SHUFFLE room.
You'll have a blast.

Online racing is what keeps the game alive. Yes, look back into it and you'll see you were missing out on the best part of the game. The zombie AI can't really put up a close, fun race like online racers can.

I find creating a same car lobbies and sending friend requests to those who finishes close to you and race clean and then creating private lobbies has improved my online experience lots compared to trawling public servers

Online is 100% the only reason I still play GT5. Obviously you want to have fun online so check out the racing series that are posted all over this site and join one that sounds fun to you. This game got extremely boring for me real quick and I know for a fact that if I did not join a racing series back in February then GT5 would have been traded in long ago.

Also who cares about punctuation mistakes or typos? LOL who is that pathetic to correct others on their spelling mistakes on a forum LOL.

Freerun is pretty cool... granted, the glory days came and went... online is pretty lame atm.
As mentioned, everyone that wasn't a jerk has moved into a league or 'group' of some sort... save for a handful of exceptions.
