It's all been said before by more than a few people -- the GTF changed my life. It's dead now, though, and GTP is the only place to go for reliable GT information. You have to sift a lot more to find it than you would have at the GTF, though. Stricter moderation could fix that, but that's simply not GTP's style. I can understand that.
I don't know... I miss the "old" GTF of a couple of years ago. It was "home"... and I don't think those that have some inane, blind sense of "GTPlanet Patriotism" could ever really understand just how perfect of a home it used to be.

As for different forums catering to different interests, I'd agree that GTPlanet has a lot of diverse ground covered... but the reason why I personally enjoyed the 'community' aspect of the GTF was because the forum populace was decidedly older, more mature, and more liberal than most other GT boards. That's what I needed -- someone to let me know that I was normal, that I could escape the clutches of a closed-minded society and the awful little town I was raised in. No other forum could have offered that to the degree that the GTF did -- believe me, I watched them all.
In any case, it's wrong to call someone out like this. After all, he was a GTFer first (and the GTF was around a LONG time before GTP!).
Before anyone else posts another thread like this: when's the last time a GTFer called someone out for being a member of GTP? This sort of thing makes GTP look pathetic. If you're convinced that you're the best GT forum, then why are you so paranoid of losing members? There's no reason for that attitude. GTP is good enough as it is... and if its members want to dually seek friendship elsewhere, it should be mutually understood, respected, and tolerated.
