Hey all, I's pretty new here, and I'm getting GT3 for my PS2 tomorrow! I got my PS2 earlier this week that came with the system, 2 Sony controllers, and ATV Offroad Fury, for $330, and Tomorrow I should recieve (I actually should have recieved all this Last Friday, but there was some shippin problems) : 8mb Sony Mem Card, FFX, SSX Tricky, and GT3 for $120. Plus the seller also included a free Gameshark 2 (I don't cheat, but hey, it's free =) and Max Payne game (a free "I'm Sorry" gift for not coming on Friday). All of the Items are all BRAND new..... I'm so gonna enjoy all of this. If ya'd like, please post a few starter tips that could possibly help me out with the game. Thanks all :D

Yeah, I also knew it was for hacking and stuff, but I figure I'm gonna be too entertained with playing GT3 as it is. I think that unlocking cars for free or whatever, takes all the fun away from the game. I could see using the GS to unlock "hidden" cars like the Diablo, that would make the game better. Are there any other cars that can be unlocked besides the Diablo (through Shark Port)? Hey, thanks for the info.........

JUST HAVE FUN!!!!!! :D I've got ATV and GT3 and they are both awesome games. ATV is especially fun in 2p mode where you can either race or just be a complete idiot :p As for GT3, there's a heck of alot to know, but it's most fun to figure it out yourself. As a pointer, the miata seems to be a good starting car. Also, if you win all golds on some of the liscenses, somtimes you will be awarded a car. (one of which is a miata, so you might wanna try out some liscense tests before you go spending your starting "cash") Good luck and have fun!!!!!!
peace,

Yeah, I'm hoping to try n get all of the golds in the B license before I buy a starter car, at least that's my game plan (who knows how hard it is, lol)

please note that: if you complete time trial (which you have to complete if you want 100%), you will win a Panoz Racer GT!!!!!! that will kick off your game!!!!!

Well, i dont think there are anyother cars to get with sharkport besides the lambo. but with gameshark you can get the Chrysler #51 Viper GTS-R, which was not in the NTSC version of the game. so its a nice lil addition to add to your garage 8)

theres not much stuff you can do with gameshark in gt3 but beating the time trials first really helps or get all golds on b license and upgrade that car a little.

Well, it's pretty hard if you're just beginning. Personally I wouldn't be able to keep up the patience for all golds.
Have fun!

Getting an MX5/Miata will give you a good start and will also allow you to enter one of the endurance races which is for untuned MX-5's only. Get one and stick hard slicks on and you get 200,000 credits (I think) and one of four quality race cars including an F1. You have to get a fairly high license though but that shouldn't be too hard.

Sorry to disappoint you, but it's 100,000 creds and one of three crappy MX5's and the Polyphony 002 F1 (PAL) or F688/S F1 (NTSC). :)

Well, I got all golds on the B license yesterday when I got my game, so now I'm gonna shoot for all golds on either A license, or do Time Trials.

Want a good start with a decent car? Then do all golds in the A license, to win you an RX-8! Want a GREAT start? Then get all golds on the time trials(or try to anyway) TT 10 you have to beat K.Yamauchi's record of 4:52.716 on the complex string!

I have some REAL advice
Limit yourself to 2 hours/day or less after a day or two playing.
All night sessions will wear out your interest in the game REAL fast, and piss off your girlfriend even faster.

Dump the girl - stay up all night... easy! :D

Still, 100,000 will help a lot early in the game, I wasn't sure because I haven't got round to doing that endurance yet. I'll have to soon though, I'm on 94.4%. Doing well to have got golds Bluesand. Its all very well saying limit yourself to 2 hours BrianCNorton, but the game is bloody addictive!

If you've got golds without too much difficulty I wouldn't worry about building up vast reserves of cash too quickly.

If you whack up a fair pot of cash you miss out on the fun of some of the 'lesser cars'.

Once u have a decent rally car, you can win the escudo and generate cash all day long on the speedway - and dominate most races, but imho its more fun to *just* win in a car that is on a par with the other computer opponents than to obliterate allcomers with good old poly 001.

[ not that there isnt some fun to be had doing just that 😈 ]

Come to think of it the miata endurance should have been a good balanced race 'cos the cars are unmodified, but I won it simply by pitting less frequently on super hard tyres, [ true for all the enduros ] which means even a mumpty like me can win without much problem!

Girsl + Gt3, thats fine, its later on when they become wives its problematic.

'In a minute, just another lap...'

Well, having a good car like my F090/s is pretty fun sometimes. Rather than racing and trying to be serious the whole time, I like to get a little physical with the other racers, and yes, pitting them is the funnest thing to do =)

I try to drive a race in the same car as the opponents do, so it stays attractive to play, instead of winning everything with the Escudo or the 787b.
