mmhh...
interesting. there are very eclectic choices, and there is the lame, usual stuff, but for me I would get my V8 fixture...
first off,
project Fearmont would be in full steam: I'd get back my 1982 Ford Fairmont Wagon and turn it into a real monster: turbocharged 332 ci with a 6 ZF speed trans, really freaking tuned suspension in the front and swapped in (and freakingly tuned) mustang cobra rear suspension with 4 wheel Brembos, blah blah blah, you get the picture. hell, I'd even put on some fiberglass (or why not? CARBON!) body panels on the thing to make it lighter (a 82 Fairmont wag isnt precsely featherweight...) and not a single trace of all the trickery on the outside. 600 hp and a granny look. in Mexico, it would be the ultimate car. In fact, I think that no street car and most of the racers in this country woud kiss my very ass (yes, mexico sucks tat much when it comes to cool cars). this alone would run me some $30 000 usd. maybe more, but lets draw the line to 30k.
then... haha, I dont know, way too much money. I'd buy a ford Maverick too. cheapest of the cheap, and an excelent platform. Id also make a "pro-Tourer" out of it, independant front and rear suspension, big brakes, EFI aluminum small block with some 400 hp and 450 lbft, six speed trans, some body mods (shaved stuff, modernizing body lines, flush-mounted glass, Sikkens rat gray paint, maybe some billet trim) and that's it. some $30 000 would also be reasonable (I wouldnt spend more on the car).
even better for this, I already have a prospect (:
here are the links (cant direct link. I found this car abandoned in a street here in mexico city, hood tach, hurst shifter and all:

My necesary muscle car: a NO-expanse-spared 70 Super bee painted lime green with a swapped in HEMI engine with EFI (damn, modernizing stuff seems a freaking vice) and reinforced gutts, some 600 hp and similar torque would be just fine (gag!), power steering and big disc brakes, road-racing suspension... well, the same treatment as the other two cars. $60 000? yeah, something like that.
now! I need a 1932 Ford Coupe that I'll turn into a so-called "rat-rod" primer paint with rust spots, 354 CI HEMI engine with a cragar intake and eight stromberg 97 carbs, rattle can flames, wide white tires (slicks out back (: ) and a Hallibrand quickchange rear end coupled to a 4-speed trans. it would be a highboy (no fenders) and would have a simple interior. some 15-20 000 would be fine to do that, and maybe im going way too far out.
of course, I wouldnt mind something like this...
60 000 left. a 1940 ford Coupe or two-door sedan with the same treatment of the '32 would be fine. this one would run a 426 HEMI with a crossram intake, a nice flame job, slicks, posi, moon discs with red line tires or halibrands or radir wheels in a traditional size, a nice vinil tuck n roll interior, a 4 speed, disc brakes, and stuff. 30 000 dollars (and that because of the engine. a HEMI aint cheap >.<)!
I have 30 000 dollars left. A cool 1956 VW bug with the cal look treatment, painted petrol black with BRM wheels or empi 5-spokers (or for a very cool and rare look nowadays, american racing torq-thrusts or Cragar SS wheels, 17 in sized), a 2000+ cc engines with a turbocharger and posi, and some cool custom touches on the exterior and interior.
The left over? mwehehehe... a Honda Civic Type R EK9. I just love that. it wouldnt be as expensive, right? how much is that thing?
Cano
yeah, I need the money.
