I got my DL!!

Today I went to take my driving test to get my drivers license, and passed with a 96 out of 100. When I back from diving with the instructor I parked the can and the first words out of her mouth after I turned the car off where "Well.....you filed the test" and a deep wave of depression came over me then she said "Back there you did a very dangerous thing" and all I did was a right turn on a red light and even stopped twice to see if any cars where coming and there where no "No right turn on red" signs. It was all clear and so I went. So the first words out of my mouth where "Dangerous?, How so?" at this point I was pissed off as hell. Then...... she said "I'm just kidding you passed" then I felt like the most gullible person in the world. So now I went over to the Starbucks where my dad was to tell him the news. As I walked up I had a little smerk on my face but as soon as I saw my dad I broke out in passably the biggest grin I have ever had and I couldn't get it off. So next we went over to the office and I got my number and we waited, and waited, and then we did some more waiting. Finally my number was called and we got all of the paper work taken care of. On to the picture. let me say this, I should have just had them use the first picture seeing as for some reason you only get three chances to get it right. The first one it looked like I had red circles around my eyes, the second time I blinked, and the third time my eyes didn't blink but this time I had a bad smile (and I didn't want my picture to have me smiling) my eyes look HUGE and have red circles around them and I have this terrible smile and I have hat hair. I mean I look so bad just the fact that I would have to show my ID if I wanted to buy cigarettes I wouldn't because my picture is that bad.(not that I ever will smoke) So after I got home I called my sister and went over there and on the way I damn near got lost. But all that aside I have very happy to finally have my drivers license :D
 
Congrats, your story sounds a lot like mine when I got my license, except I passed with a perfect score.:sly:

Now all you need is a car.

and by on the way I mean I will be getting a job soon and will be saving up to buy it :D
 
pff, i really have to go take the theory test soon, so that i can go for the practise test i a couple of months.

And about the right turn when there's a red light, that would mean failure here in Belgium, because it doesn't matter in which direction you go, you may not drive by a red light.
 
Congrats on getting them, I'm glad you live all the way across the country though, doing dangerous stuff like that, whats a matter with you.

Just kidding, I'm glad my instructor didn't do that to me, I would of flipped out.

Remember though, don't run a red light ever again. You could get pulled over.

P.S. Nice Nissan you want. It looks smart (nice rims and colour).

I can't wait until i get my license, or start driving for that matter. When i got my permit, I felt so happy the whole day. Even my parents useless bickering didn't get me down, it was quite a good day.

But I didn't run a red light. All I did was make a right turn on a red light and its perfectly legal.

Yup, thats the way it is in the U.S. as long as you stop and yeild the right away to traffic coming across you, you're allowed to make a right turn on red.
 
Oh yeah, sorry it's just the way it is in the UK (not allowed past red lights, even if you're turning) I forgot you guys had a different system in the US.
 
Good work! I'll be sure to steer clear of you if I ever see you around :). It's hard to believe that I got my license 7 years ago. Among other things, I had points deducted because someone cut me off while driving through an intersection, and because I didn't glance forward while driving around a corner in reverse (yes, that is an actual part of the driving test). Still the happiest day of my life...

Its my sisters that you should steer clear of! They suck as drivers, my older sister drives about 10 mph over the speed limit constantly and rides peoples bumpers, and my younger sister you can even say something like "yea thats the place right over there" because she will stop looking where she is going and turn head and look then the next thing you know shes moving off the road....:nervous:

congrats on the DL my friend. Use it wisely. But for the most humorous thing, when you get your liscense, check out the pic and see how stoned you look. I have never seen someone's DL pic that didn't look like they were stoned out of their mind.
