I think the real reason people hate on the GT-R is because they only see this:
New-Nissan-GT-R-Rear-2011.jpg

The only purpose this thread ultimately serves is to stir arguments...This is really fail-.-
Oh and by the way, I don't like the R35 at all but Im a fan of the earlier "Skyline" GTR's. They just feel really good to drive.

The first GT-R that I'v ever seen driving on a public road, was being driven by a 70ish year old woman. She was driving well under the posted speed limit. I passed her and Reved my 6.0L V8 a few times hopping she would (punch it). She did not. True story 👍
The fact is GT-R's are made for people that can't drive. And in (real life) that's who buy them. Yes they are fast, but not a true "drivers car". Same goes for the Veyron. Fast, but way too easy to be fun.

My opinion, of course :)

And folks around here are so easily riled, it's like shooting fish in a barrel.

And of course, we need a few, "I hate haters of GT-R haters", ad nauseum.

This type of thread also always brings out the usual pot stirring suspects, as well. They love a good troll thread and love to perpetuate one that is already in motion. Carry on. ;)

The GTR is the BEST "normal" car in history !
Its what the new Mclaren is in the exotic car world But then for the normal sport car world :)

The best use of todays technology in a car.

Mostly cars with technology overdrive got issues like the new Lancer ... if u drift it extremely it gets all ERROR and u cant shift for a short while ...
Mclaren got some minor issues to.
But the GTR is perfect. always does what u ask.

So all haters got a believe that the average GTR user is a blonde woman who cant even drive a golf cart if it aint got no ESP :p , they are moslty TECH haters ... Yes an old M3 needs more skill to drive ... we know ... JUST EGMIT THE GTR IS GREAT
(ps: i dont like driving the GTR in game couse its to clean but if i would have the real life money i will buy a GTR)

I would like to hear from an actual GT-R owner. There seems to be alot of assumptions being made about the characteristics. Unfortunately the chance of an owner on here is about 1/5000000.

PS: ^^LOL at "JUST EGMIT"

I'm guessing this is at me.. I said OLD woman, Not Blonde. And it's a true story.
The GT-R IS NOT a (Normal Car) therefore it is not the Best normal car. And what is it Sooo great at.. It's fast that's it. I'v seen many GT-R's on the road. I know who buys them and why.. Plus GT-R's must be worst looking car in the world.. They could have at made look nice, it looks like PIG. Anybody who would spend REAL money on a GT-R is CRAZY.

Why do you hate people for there Opinions..? Why doe you think only YOUR opinion is correct..? Should I start an (I hate GT-R lovers) thread..

Yes GT-R is a nice car
Actually it is a good for making good laps on the track.
And it is cheap then cars in its clansman in the real world.
İt is a product of japanese engineering.
But I think it can't give you pleasure as much as a FR car's given.
I do not hate it ofcourse.
But I don't prefer it too.

Some people here seem to forget that the GT-R drivetrain can mimic a RWD car. The ATTESSA system can split the power from 50/50 to 0/100 on the front and real tires. If you search youtube you will find R33, R34, and R35 with the rear wheels only spinning due to the power when launching off a line. The system is the most tricked out 4WD system in the world honestly.

@Rotary Junkie
I don't feel much change in the 4wd system when on and off throttle in corner's, it understeer's into corner's like all the other 4wd's, when in the GTR it should feel like a rwd when not accelerating in a corner. Maybe it is there but I haven't felt it on the stock R35. Could also be my lack of a wheel at the time.

Funny, my GT5 GT-R experience was that it rotated VERY easily off the throttle, too easily in fact. It only understeered on the throttle, and massive understeer at that. Going around corners was basically: slow down, gently start turn in, watch as car violently attempts to do a 180, catch it and give it a tiny bit of gas just before it spins too far, watch as car instantly attempts to throw its nose straght into the wall, then saw wildly at the wheel and keep modulating the throttle to try to get it to finish turning before running out of road. And thats when driving conservatively.

Couldn't stand driving it, but I could care less if others do.

I'm sorry I can't agree with that.. That's ridiculous..

Your post makes the car sound wild, which I've never seen and would go against alot of poster's stating it is far too calm and easy to drive. I don't think you should ever saw at your wheel as I believe that would wildly throw a car off balance. At low speed's for corner's it's not horrible, it just doesn't feel like a rwd as it should.

GTR is too overrated! Its a noob car to people that cant drive! It's soo boring to drive. I would take a m3, ferrari , lamborghini any day

You find those because people like to break ATTESSA.

The original system (up through the R34 as far as I'm aware) was designed to be 100% RWD until the rear tires spun 3% faster than the fronts, at which point power was sent forward.

I'm sure I overexaggerated a little :) and I did eventually reign it in to do the Nürb lap, but that was what it felt like to me. I learned to just know what it would do and keep the wild bits to a minimum. It never gave me understeer on entry though, seemed like it couldn't wait to swap ends.

I don't mind a car that oversteers a bit on turn-in, but I much prefer one that keeps turning on the way out. The GT-R's oversteer was a bit worse than I like but my main issue was correcting it without major "push."

I do realize that I had a very different time with it than most. Just must not match my style. Oddly, I was fine with the Shulze GT-R.

In my opinion unless you have driven the car in real life you can't make a real opinion on the car... because you're judging your opinion on a videogame otherwise.

It also helps if you have studied the car and understand what the cars does too. Sometimes you can answer a question that even an owner don't know.

Don't judge a driver just by their car. People who judge often underestimate and look foolish.

How can studying a car (no offence),tell you better about the driving experience and how the car behaves than the actual driver?
I understand the mechanics and other technical information, but if you own the car you're bound to know more than someone who merely know the facts and figures.

I like the 25GT-T more than the GT-R.
I love FR.
Used_car_Nissan_Skyline_25GT_T_2Dr.jpg

And I don't.

This is probably the only Skyline I despise - the GTS R32s. In terms of the Skyline, they are genuinely pointless, seeing as they are slower than the GT-R. And no, do not bring drifting into the context. I could not give a monkeys about that.

As for the current R35, I am completely neutral with it. I know it's fast certainly, and all very techy and digital, and a big name to hold up. It's hardly bad, but I wouldn't dare worship it. Which is why I'd have the complete opposite of them - a Vauxhall VXR8.

In my opinion, the only use of the GT-T is drifting, and you can use cars that are so much better looking and just generally better at drifting, so it is technically pointless in my eyes as well.

I am a GT-R fan I guess to some. I have used it in the game and a guy I work with owns one that I drooled on a few times already...

The GTR/Skyline is truly an amazing car merging Tech and Mechanics like it has. Most of the car in real life you can turn systems off and on as you wish (VERY complex TC system for example). You can also dial in the car to do what you want it to do. It moves the mechanic tuning from under the hood/car to the drivers seat. I enjoy working on cars but if I can change my car by pressing a new setting on a touchscreen... I will take the touchscreen!

In the game, for those of you nailing it for being AWD, you can set it as you want for how you want it to drive (just as you can from the touchscreen). I prefer almost all power going to the back tires as my real life car is a Mustang.... Just the feel I like.

Between the versions the R34 is my favorite in appearance. BUT it is what it is. It was meant to be a performance coupe... not an exotic race car (though it is still a VERY EXOTIC car here in the US because it never passed US emissions)... BEAUTIFUL design... But the GT-R still out-powers, out-handles and is outright a better car than the R34 **This is all stock of course ** (which was and still is a phenomenal car). But the GT-R is designed to be an Exotic Super Car... It IS NOT a "standard" car. It is Nissan's flagship... the same as the Ford GT, Chevy Corvette, Dodge Viper.... American and European cars almost always have a "Super Car".... Many dont see Asian cars as Super Cars but hands down the GTR is...

In the game, yeah... noobs love them... but just because you like them IMO doesnt make you a noob... its preference.... I like green cars, Joe likes blue and Sue likes Pink.... nothing wrong with that thats why we have options and selections.

BUT (here is the kicker) PD put WAY to many GT-Rs/Skylines in the game... There are tons of them and the game would be just as good with half of them... Same with the Miatas, RX-7s and a few others... That kinda made all of us get sick of them fast when every other car in the game feels like 1 of the same 5 cars..... Eventually being force fed the same things over and over you start loosing your taste for them. A smaller selection makes a "delicacy" that people would crave and enjoy more when they had it (if that makes any sense)

O rly? Ok then, can you explain to me then, how I can get a R35 around a track at least a full second ahead of a R34 without even trying? And if having a lower power output is really to be a proper advantage, you'd need to weigh much less, like what a Lotus Elise is to a NSX, not being only average in terms of weight.

An R34 just as fast as a R35 in GT5 at an equal level of tuning? When pigs fly.

Yes a R34 can be just as fast as a GTR in real life. In game...well...thats not gonna happen. Many cars that are separated in terms of classes shouldn't be. A person should be able beat a GTR in even a Mazda RX-7 with the right tuning and aftermarket parts. Its a machine, and a machine does not have limits because it can be cut, drilled, and molded into anything you want with the right resources. Example: Honda drag cars. There hondas but they move like beast. Im sure people look at those cars like "a honda, really?" Yes really anythings possible. Not in GT5

@RX-7_FD3S I'm guessing Cpizzythegod was trying to point out that the R35 started production in 2007 not 2009 as you were stating.

I really do love the Skyline, all the way back from 1957 to 2002. The GTR is slowly growing on to me but is one of my least liked GT(-)R's. On GT5 I'd say I don't enjoy racing with the newer GT(-)R's simply because they do not seem to be modeled correctly. No ATTESA-ETS and no Super HICAS 4-wheel steering (which should be on alot of Nissan's on GT5 (along with other companies 4 wheel steering car's)) seem to be implemented. If it were even more people would complain about it though.

In game I'd also rather drive FR car's which is why I have many FR Skyline's. In real life I'd go for the GT-R but I'd still think about a FR Skyline from time to time. I like the I6 for preference as well.

Edit: Never mind he clearly think's a GTR isn't a R35.

In game its not which is the true point to my rant besides the fact that Im gona have major fame in rooms now. Thank you GT Planet. Kanye West gave me the idea. Example: Bush don't like black people. Lol yall gon remember the name cpizzythegod

ORLY? I think you're the one that's "a little lost". Every "new" GT-R is an R35, including the soon-to-be 2013 U.S. MY car.

I'm a tuna. That means I'm a fish.

In what way?

Erm... I share my circuit tunes because I know the people who would beat me with them will do so even if I don't, and it helps other people along.

I share my drag tuning knowledge too. I won't give out my absolute best tune, but I'll give out what I come up with early into tuning a car... Which will usually be a matter of thousandths of a second slower than what I end with... In other words, someone could take my "bad" tune and beat me with it very easily just due to an extremely slight difference in when we launch.

O RLY. Beat my R35 drag time since you love the car so much and it's so easy. 8.895 1/4 mile, no aids aside from automatic transmission.

I'd give you my version of a "base" tune for it (which should run an 8.900 or so when driven right) but since it's so easy you don't need that.

LOL OKAY. I'd like to race you on track too then.

Yep, that sucks. What does that have to do with R35s?

"Smash out"? Bro, I'm from Detroit and I don't hear that come from anyone.

They actually do...

I'll hate on the R35 all I damn well please while still absolutely loving the R32, 33, and to a lesser extent, the R34.

The R32 is certainly no slouch... And tuned to the same power levels it will, generally speaking, outrun an R33 or R34.

What?

Yes, an R33 done up specifically for drag racing can "smash out" on a Veyron on street tires.

Then again, I'm quite sure the R33 is generally the better circuit car than the Veyron in GT5... And what's the main focus of GT5? Oh, right, circuit racing.

Edit: @Nish: From what I saw of the 2009 V-Spec, the AWD system is done properly. 4WS, maybe not, but the stock R35 diffs do seem to act as they should, same for R32-34s. It was more pronounced in previous (GT3/4) games than now, but it's still there.

Yes fall victim to my thread. Your the first to call me out on a video game. Talkin bout beat me. I'm sure you would beat me cuz I dont sit at home tuning a car for long periods of time like Imma really go out and drive it. My **** is fast. On a scale from 1-10 I am a 8/9 and hey you might be a 10 but hey who cares it doesnt pay the bills. Remember the name cpizzythegod

CyKosis1973
This post is so full of LOLs that I won't need another LOL until ooooh, 2013. You picked the wrong target to rant. Quite frankly, I'd go to RJ before most people, regarding making cars go faster in GT. He has a whole garage full of proven and published builds, from what I can see, you've got nothing but a bucket full of chips and opinions...

{Cy}

A garage of pixels or a real garage of real cars. Lol its just a game and Im sure his tunes aren't that much different than other fast people. I rant where I rant. Now you remember the name cpizzythegod.

So this is the question and answers section. My question would be, how is a topic entilted "I hate GTR haters" a question?
