I hate the differences between the PAL and the NTSC. Its so stupid. Why dont they just make it the same all over the world? I mean it would be better for the Economy, no? ( I guess :)). My dad is from Iran ok, and he goes over there sometimes. And he could get me sooo many PS games for soo ****ing cheap man. He paid like 5 bucks for a new ps game, which I cant play because the whole crap is different in Europe!!

Its stupid stupid stupid!!,
or not?

That's why he hates it.You have to modify your Ps2 to be able to play all games.

Dude, it's not that big of a deal; most places will let you take a game in that you bought for the wrong version of your system, or even the wrong system, and replace it for a small fee with one that you can use...

Actually, it's amazingly difficult to do that, because you've got an entire hemisphere that has to toss out every single piece of video equipment it is currently using.

That's camcorder, TV, VCR, DVD, game system and so on. As well as the electrical systems in a house. Are you sure you can financially afford to do that? Converting to HD is supposed to alleviate some of that, but that's been in process for 7 years, and the TV's are still not affordable. So it's looking like another 5 years to get there. We can't even convert over to metric, without a huge fuss, and all that is are road signs, and speedometers (yes, there are more).

It's unfortunately, the status quo and we're stuck with it. While he's over there in Iran, why not simply have him bring back a TV and PS2 if it's all so cheap? Oh yeah... That'd mean you'd have to shell out cash.

I'm betting it's not exactly a "store bought" copy ;)

Buy a new NTSC ps2, ill bet they're cheap too. Then go make some cool looking stickers that say NTSC and PAL. Set the pair side by side and presto. That would look awful cool in my room and yours.

I think itll be better to buy a chip than a whole new ps2!
Does anybody know where I could buy of the internet? Because that would be great:)

Well, because we don't have a choice, and the wife would shoot me if I had a TV and a PS2 shipped here from England.

Yes, I've thought long and hard about it.

Anyone want to lend me a hand?
