I HATE the little paint chip model car!

For a game that accidentally screws up so many things that occur in real life that it really has no business screwing up, I don't find "well, its like that in real life" to be a valid defense for stupid game design.

+1

And if they were shooting for realism, explain the car wash where the car spins like a top at the end? :dopey:  :dunce:

Completely pointless and stupid. It's actually a bit irritating. And when the little model shows the back and underside, I can't make out the colour properly. It makes all the sense in the world for it to show your own car in the colour you want to preview. It's only a game, but I want to be sure a particular colour is just right.

And that silly animation with the fake snow blower machines...come on PD, you had a lot more stuff to spend that time on. It should be "Sure?" OK, click, bling, in the space of a second, thank you very much.

Nit-picking?? Well, stop me if I'm wrong, but I thought attention to detail is important in a "Real Driving Simulator".

This reminds me of the thread asking about American vs. Japanese developers. This is exactly the type of thing Japanese developers do that American developers don't. User interface is just not central to their design philosophy.

This thing is so annoying. Why can't the fullsize car itself change to the colors you are looking at? The colors often look much different on your actual car than on the stupid tiny paint chip model. It's so small it's hard to tell the difference between a lot of the hues. And I have a 50" 1080p plasma TV...

I've had to burn through so many different colors to get the one I really want because of this horrible system.

I totally agree. Every paint looks so cool on it, and when you paint it on your car, it commonly looks like Jeremy Clarkson.

Like I said before... in the real-world a custom paintshop will be able to show you your full design (wheels, colours, decals etc.) on a render of your car.

For GT5 not to do it is just mad.
