I've been playing this game since February 2011, and have never seen this. Is it somewhat of an oddity? I can get a picture if needed.

Cars only register a change when you change into them after not being in them. If you buy them and immediately start using them them after the little cutscene thing, it doesn't count as a change; meaning you can do whatever you want to the car (win races, put tons of miles on it, customize it) and it still register as 0 changes.

Are you still actively in the car?
I have a car with over 100,00 miles and double digit wins. If you know how to to glitch the changes ticker, you could have many cars in your stable like this.

Really? I'll try to replicate this.

I only used it for one Seasonal Event ages ago. Just noticed that it was like this.

You can get a car. Buy a brand new one. But don't get in it yet...

Go to the garage and get in that new car
Then the car set up area
fiddle with the brake bias (3/2 maybe)

then drop into GTAuto - slap on some fresh paint and dapper wheels.

then swap into another car...

look back in your garage and you'll have a 0/0/0 car with fresh paint.

If you had a race after the paint it would be a Zero change car with miles on the clock and hopefully 1st place trophies on the back seat.
