My sister is cooking.

I don't think I'm going to live through tonight...

Somebody please help me!

She lives in France and flew over to spend the week in Maastricht, and now she insisted on cooking tonight - so I'm fearing French cuisine, poorly prepared by my sis. Any tips on how to get through the evening?

The key is to serve yourself small rations, but if she is going to put the food in your plate, then the thing is going to be different. If you dont like the food, just say that you ate something before (went to BK, didnt know that she was going to cook).

Although, it would be nice to put a liquor bottle (wine, vodka) on the table( she should if she really came from france).

That way it would be easier to swallow the food.

You could always do one of those faux seizures type deals. Have an alka seltzer in your mouth and then fall to the ground. The alka seltzer should start to foam. now just start twitching.

It might work.

Is this sort of comparison with your cooking and your sisters cooking similar to your cooking and fast food places like McDonalds? i.e wondering where the **** the health inspectors are when you eat the ropiest burger ever.

Speaking of McDonalds etc, never go to the one in Newport :(

So you are basically telling him to spazz out right there at the table?

OA

Just wait a tad till the others start eating...if they feel ok, then there's probably nothing wrong with the food.

Unless your sis hates you, then I'd eat it and write a note about what they should do with all your belongings... :)

I don't think there was ever any doubt that the food was going to be safe to eat. I think the main issue was whether it was going to be edible in taste/smell/texture terms.

Heh, no. She loves me!

Uhm, dinner wasn't bad actually - she made a whole bunch of Italian stuff and it was quite good. ;)

So is she a good cook? If so, send her over here and I'll give her a job.
And Snoop, next time you encounter a situation like this, use tons of salt and butter. Salt and butter could make the worst meal palatable.

Damn Tasmanians. Took about an hour just for them to get me an orange juice out of the freezer and make two cappuccinos. Had to end up getting the money back. Then at another place waited half an hour for them to toast bread.

Oh, on topic, Salt. My saviour. Or Chips.
