Would it be possible to inform a user of how many posts he/she has made, like maybe under their title, or on their "MyGTPlanet" page in the "Edit Avatar" tab

Somthing like: "Posts: 150"

It would help new members wondering how many post they have made so far figure out how many more contributive posts they need to make before uploading a Custom Avatar of their own, etc

Just a suggestion/thought

Yes, you can! Just click on your user name beside any post and click "view public profile." Somewhere on there will be the number of posts you have made. On that page, it's under forum something.

Post counts used to be displayed, until it was fond they really contributed more to post whoring than to quality posts.

Yes, it is still available for you to find.

Ah cool, of course its where i didn't look or expect to find it, thanks 👍

Hmm, not to hijack the thread, but how about telling how many Reputation points you have?
The reason why its not shown, is so that you strive, on a continual basis, to make quality posts.

Then again, your amount is easy for anyone to figure out.

They did do that, but not anymore. Lead to reputation whoring.

EDIT: Tree'd.

Brilliant!:idea:That's a underhanded way of helping people make better posts. Now it's no wonder why this website has so much helpful information. This is due to the fact that there's less "whoring" and more contributing. I am amazed!

I am reviving this to ask the question, can you add attachments to private messages. If not, I think that would be a nice tool for pm. For an example, sending a pm with an .max drive attachment in it. If not, can those .max files be emailed just as easy.

...why did you revive an old thread on a completely different topic to ask a totally unrelated question?

To answer it anyway, no. You cannot attach files to a private message. You would need to attach it to a post and then PM a link to the post. However, of course, that makes the file available to all users. Otherwise you can simply email it directly to the person who needs it.

After searching for an hour it seemed appropriate according to title. It is also a suggestion. Thanks for the reply.

No, I've never been fond of the idea of attachments in private messages, because that file will basically be downloaded one single time - and never looked at again. If these extra files are going to be taking up space on our server, I at least want others to be able to download them to bring additional content to the site for a long time to come. Besides, it's really easy to exchange email addresses and send files that way. :)
