While typing up my reply to the "anger management" thread, I got to thinking of how long my reply was getting, and that it would really suck if IE decided to spontaneously explode on me just as I hit the "submit" button... so, before I did so, I hit Command+S ("Save"), and then realized that I'm not using a word processor here... D'oh!

Don't you just love technology? :D

(Don't ask where that came from... it's 10:50, and I'm tired, and I wanna go to bed...)

I'm guessing you live in the west coast then? Yeah, I think you have been on your computer too long. How bout tomorrow after school you stay outside for a while. Or wait, you have cross country right? That'll take care of going outside. But if cross country is over, go outside for a while, egg a house, and be happy. :D My advice is soooo helpful right?

You're a little late duo... it's 12:30 (daytime) right now (I'm typing this from Computer Applications class)... ;)

I'm still tired. And I have a ton of homework that I'll have to do tonight. Isn't high school the greatest?

Anyone else attending a high school where the teachers feel obligated to make sure you don't go to bed before 11 o'clock each night? :D

Me too. Seeing how were the same age, I must be in High School too, right. Right. Actually today, I have no homework, because I managed to do it all in class. Right now, I'm sitting at home typing this message. Last night I was up till 12:30 doing homework. It not hard or anything, its just a lot of work. My History teacher normally gives us 30 or so questions for homework each night. My Biology teacher expects us to study for 20 minutes every night (yeah right) and my honors english teacher thinks we only go to that class the whole day and she gives us that much more homework. Doesn't really bother me since I normally don't think as much when I do my homework, I still get it all right too. High School was kinda a punch to my shoulder so to speak. In 8th grade, we had next to no homework every night and we moved really slow when it came to class work. When I got to high school, we covered a chapter in one week. I had to actually try to compensate for it (never had to do that before). I try not to think about it too much, it makes everything go by faster.

I rarely have homework.. The only homework i have right now is from auto shop. I have to learn to use a Micrometer to measure bolt sizes, then increase it by 10 thousands of an inch and find a drill bit that will fit. :)

Heh, lucky guys... I've not had one day of high school yet (except the first two or so) where I haven't stayed up until at least 10:30, and that's when I'm having an easy day... 11:00 is the norm, and I've wandered into midnight territory a few times (such as last night... I went to bed exactly at midnight, then my stomach was growling, so 5 minutes later I walked to the kitchen and prepared some yogurt and granola, then went back to bed, although granola and yogurt lieing on the side of your stomach isn't the best thing for it- go figure). Weekend are hel... heck for me too. Just imagine if I had decided to take 3 advanced classes! (Which some kids are). Then I would truly be a walking zombie.

At least I'm nice and hyper during the day... makes up nicely for my utter lack of energy at home.

duo- I'm kind of going under the same process... 8th grade was so easy, and 9th grade is the first time I've actually been constantly challenged. Sure, last year, Geometry was a little tough, but I still pulled out an A pretty easily and without many hurdles... But in Hnrs. Alg. 2, I'm absolutely dieing to try and keep my A intact (a B won't hurt, but neither will an A :D) AP Bio and Spanish are real culprits too- AP Bio, well, because it's a somewhat-college-level class, and Spanish, because my Spanish teacher isn't very smart, nor resourceful. She's usually late to class (after the tardy bell!), and does her own little business for about 30 minutes before deciding to even talk to us.... quite honestly, I firmly believe I could learn more Spanish in that 52 minute period on my own than by her.

Jeebers, I'm starting to ramble again. I'll shut up now. :)

I'm in 3 so called "AP" classes at my school. English, History, and Chemistry. I still manage to do no more than an hour of homework per night(50% of the time, I have none). High-School is a breeze.

1st period: i have to learn from a TV and a phone.
2nd period: sleepy time...
3rd period: AP science.
4th period: AP math.
5th period: computer class :D.
6th period: AP history.
7th period: more sleepy time.

i rarely have more than 45 minutes of homework, but the 7 hours of actual school is bad enough.

My exciting block schedule::rolleyes:

1st block: Wood Shop

2nd block: Basic Foods 1 (cooking)

3rd block: Integrated Science R (boring as hell)

4th block: World History & Cultures 1

85 min a class. Rarely get over 1 hour of hw.

I've found it quite interesting how many people (on GTP) have harder classes than me (or more advanced classes), yet don't have very much homework... Is California that unresourceful? :D

Anyway, my schedule, for those who care:

P2: Cross Country (I actually start CC at 6:30 AM, and run until about 8:00, which is technically when 2nd period starts... so, it's kind of an open period)
P3: English (with a teacher who doesn't speak great English...)
P4: Honors Alg. 2
P5: Computer App. (tedious, since I already know everything, but gives me a nice break)
P6: Spanish (UGH!)
P7: AP Bio

I dont get too much homework, hardly any when compared to how much we should get, that is, 1-1.5 hrs of homework, we hardly get 20 mins everyday. But I dont do any of it, mostly because of :gtp:, my brand spanking PS2 and GT3, and my recnelty aquired Age of Empires, which Im about to go play riiiiiiiiight now....

I only have one problem teacher. He trys to just give me homework and not anybody else. He hates me the worst of all. I dont do any of it though so thats why I made a 50 in there. My schools computers have the stupid blockers where you cant go to certain sites so I cant go here and use my time at school for something more meaningful while the teacher is lecturing about his friends that are millionaires and about college, we are all in 9th and 10th grade in his class so he decides to talk about college. I went to sleep in his class the other day and I woke up 45 minutes later and he was still talking about the same things...

Of course! It takes place of P.E., right? :) (At least at my school it does...)

Here are my classes:
1. College Prep (kinda like advance or honors) History 9
2. College Prep Earth Science 9
3. PE
4. College Prep Biology 10
5. Honors English 9
6. Advance Algebra 2
7. Spanish 2

the 9 and 10 refers to the grade level at which the classes are supposed to be taken.

I think I would be the equivilent to 10th Grade. In New Zealand we do our school years this way:

Primary:
5-6 years old - Standard 1/New Entrant Year 1
6-7 - Standard 2 Year 2
7-8 - Std 3 Y3
8-9 - Std 4 Y4
9-10 - Std 5 Y5
10-11 - Std 6 Y6

Intermediate:
11-12 - Form 1 Y7
12-13 - Form 2 Y8

High School/College
13-14 - Form 3 Y9
14-15 - Form 4 Y10 - Thats where I am
15-16 - Form 5 Y11
16-17 - Form 6 Y12
17-18 - Form 7 Y13

I think the USA schools use Grade # instead of our Year #?? Im not quite sure about it...
