Just got out of a iRacing race. I was going to try to take it easy and just got for the sr because... well let me just describe my last 3 races
#1 a legend race at thompson running 4th with around 7 to go and I had a 1 lap gap between me and the 5th place car but a lap car came along and rather than just letting me by he decided to race me well going into 1 and 2 he ran me up to the wall on my inside then spun me on the backstretch which was a 2x impact but I had to pit for damage=my race over
#2 a street stock race at charlotte running 4th with 2 to go and a lap car is battling with the 2nd and third place cars then the lap car spins the 2nd place car off of 1 and 2 then they both collide and hit the 3rd place car and then the lap car slides all the way across the track to ram into me with a 4x then a 2x contact
#3 ok this is the race I was just in a minute ago. I was in 7th YES 7TH and im having a good battle with the 6th place car then all of a sudden the 8th place car rather than just going in line behind me or the 6th place car brings it wide on the front stretch but loses grip and sins the 6th place car into me for a 4x impact
man this game is really starting to get annoying:mad:

This is really a chore to read. Have you considered using using punctuation instead of having run on sentences?

I agree with Schwartz... from what I can read you had a bad time in your last race. Sorry to hear.

+1 for the Gordon dirt stache

But yeah, we've all been there and its one of the reasons i havent been promoted in a while.

We've all been there done that.

It happens outside of rookie too.

My theory, take it less seriously, just race in the series you want to race in and enjoy it.

Yeah, tell me more. I'm trying to get clean oval races, but its almost impossible.
No matter if i'm in front or middle. Crashes keep finding me :)
Can't remember when i had clean oval race.

Oak Lawn, IL? If so, then howdy neighbor!

If you truly want to race for SR then do not even think of 'racing' in the race! Sit in the back and find a comfortable gap between the car ahead of you and behind you (if applicable). Treat the race as a TT and try to maintain the gap in time between yourself and other cars. Of course, this is much more difficult in Oval racing than in Road racing.

good luck!

Good advice from the previous posters, find a series you like and don't take it so serious. It's about survival skills as much as talent. Personally I only like road racing which is a lot of fun for me. There are times I finish in the top 5 and times I have finished 23th out of 30 cars, I still enjoyed it.

In road races I often feel out the competition for a few laps, the guys that are alien like usually are gone in the first couple laps, then I'll just survive 4 or 5 laps and then drive to my ability. Most times in road racing rookies will try to race above their abilities and they end up doing a button hook into the grass or worse.

Spot on. Don't try to do every lap at your PB. If you do, you will crash.

Exactly. I did that in last skippy race.
Started from 10th (but since it was my first ever race in Skip) i let everyone pass me.
Then i was just trying to do constant lap times and get confidence.

...i finished 5th ;)

I'm a D class and I was going to get C but a guy went 3 wide an the third lap racing for around 7th or 8th, but I thought I would pass by all the wreckers in D class but I guess no.
