...that i can save my game during a Series Race. Oh, you mean I don't have to destroy my hands by running ten races back to back? I had wondered how all the rest of you guys and gals were doing it.

I guess that'll learn me to hit "Next" before looking at all of the options. :dunce:

Sometimes I just leave the PS2 on (: Have you done any of the endurance races yet? Some last over 2 hours! Just pit, pause, and go to bed.

 Risingson77 - Ya, I personally vote that as the best feature of GT3.

It took me a while to stumble across it too - lord knows I never resort to RTFM

AAAAAAAARRRRRRRRGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!

If only I knew. :banghead:

BTW - I didn't know about these

:vauxhall: :mini: :mg:

Heh heh! I'd have laughed if you'd done the Pro Formula Championship without saving (or sleeping!!!)

lol - didn't read the manual either eh? :)

But, the number of times I've saved my replay instead of my progress... not paying attention...

:(

risin' mate, you should have checked this forum for info earlier in your GT3 career... ;) :p

yea..well thismaybe valuble to those who dont know it:

save the race right before the last race..like 9 or 4th race. Make sure your atleast 11 points ahead of the 2nd place person. Then when u start the last race..quit it. See what car u win. If its not the one u want..reload the game and quite the race till u get the car u want.

Another factor is the opposition. We all know that there's always one AI car that'll try and give you a race. Just keep your eye on how it does. If it finishes second like clockwork, then you'll have to win 8 out of 10 to win (I think  ). But on some tracks it could spin out and another AI car can get second. That'll bring your number of 'save' races down. :)

heres a tip for u guys who do that. If you want to quit races..but cant b/c the 2nd place guy will win 10 points and beat you..just start the race...bang up the 2nd place guy till he's last..then quit the race. It will say he won 1st..but he only gets 1 point. A cool tip :D

Hehe. Nice trick. :D

what was the least amount of races u did to finish first in a series..my best was only 5 races out of 10 of the polophony cup pro

Further to that point, if you just race ahead until you are in the lead, and then quit, the 2nd place person will get 6 points, and there will be no first place finisher, so, no 10 pointer.

I ran 6 races (I think) out of a 10 race series last night, just blowin' by the tracks that annoyed me.

Well.....I looked at the manual...I didn't think there'd be anything new for me (having played GT1 and 2 religiously).

The only part of the manual I've studied are the driving tips...still not very good at that, either.

I was able to quit after 7 races in the Japan GT Championships in Pro League. I could have quit after 6 races on the Polyphony Cup, but I wanted to complete the series without a pit stop :fdevil:

I also could have quited after the third race of a five race series. Anyway, I bet you are really happy to have figured that save thing out now, right?? :burnout:

Are you serious.....? You pit in a 5 lap race?? Pitting once in a 10 lapper is alright usually, but the only time I see someone pitting within 5 laps would be a car using supersofts during a long race....

Wait until you get to the Polyphony Cup. There is 20 laps to every race. But superslicks will take care of that problem usually :p

The stock normal tires never gave me a problem with 5 lappers. Although the prize race cars and some road cars come with medium tires already bought and installed :)

When I first got GT1 and a PSX, I left it on for 5 days strait before I got a mem card. It was pretty hot, like meltdown hot, but it worked fine...

 When I first got my PS2, I left Midnight Club (a Blockbuster rental) on all day because I didn't have a memory card and I wanted to beat the game. But 5 days? Man, thats pretty hardcore!

yeah, but Ps2 is dirffrent then PSX, because PS2 has a fan and PS1 doesnt, so PS1 will overheat faster
