EVERY car will recieve a mandatory 10 laps aournd The Ring. I'm dead serious too. I plan on putting that track through it's paces. Can't wait to see the enduro PD has planned for that track.
Sounds pretty cool...but after you started doing 10 laps...you might want to drop to five or maybe even one. I know i would. But my goal is to hopefully collect ever car that's in the game in my garage...and hopefully with the implementation of the HDD, i will be able to do that.
I'm guessing we will have approximately 600 cars. Most of them will take more than 10 minutes on the Nordschleife. Let's estimate 12 minutes as average. That would mean 2 hours per car = 1200 hours.
I guess you'll have some time until GT5 comes around. Don't forget the normal playing and online racing though.
I would say the average time would be around 8 mins for the Norschleife, the F1 cars will do it in 5 or uner (I think) and the top spec GT cars in under 7. Then again the slower cars like the model T could take 15 mins for a lap.
Supercars and performance oriented sports cars clock in at 7.30 to 8 minutes. Obviously the racing cars will be below that, but not enough to weigh up all the everyday cars and econoboxes.
I'm sure some people will hotlap every car at least once, so we'll see some average times for all cars. My guess is it's even more than 12 minutes.
Maybe your right, I'm thinking too muh on the lines of GT3's car selection where most are sports cars but GT4 will have quite a lot of everyday cars like the Panda and Beetle.
I think 10 laps around the 'Ring is a bit too long especially with cars that are close to a thousand. I think 3 laps is reasonable, esp. with slower cars like that Model T, Mazda Carol 360, Subaru 360, the old Bug, and the Fiat 500.
I'll do the same thing, just like in GT2 (in fact I used Gameshark just to unlock the cars that are rare, and not available in the US-version) as what I did at the Test Course [consists with 1 warm up lap, and 3 main laps of each cars based on hp].
Hey, I never said it was gonna be overnight. I've been playing and racing in GT3 since it came out. I plan to play GT4 even longer. Yes it'll take time, but there's some advantages to it.
1.) I'll learn The Ring inside and out.
2.) Each car will get a good amount of my attention and I'll get too see each one's potential.
3.) It'll keep me from playing favorites with the cars.
4.) I'll learn alot of good tricks with driving each car.
Yeah, that's true, I wouldn't expect a GT5 before 2007, and I'd want a different name - I'm sick of Evolution 8's, GeForce 6's and so on - get some creativity back people.
