Why on earth do I have answer the annoying "do you want to log into psn" question THREE Goddamn times before entering My Home? :mad:

First, before the game loads up. Then on the main screen. And then when you click on My Home button.

Seriously, how many times do we need to be asked if we want to sign into the PSN. If we did, we'd friggin be signed in before playin the friggin game.

Then you ask 2 more friggin times?

Couldn't these excess questions have been saved to provide another car, or a track in the game?

Anyway... a lot of games have this annoying log-in question at different points in the game too. Wouldn't a notice or warning at the start of the game provide a better / non-annoying alternative? grrrr..
 
:lol: Love how People who will only be offline for a few days rant about it ,It has been this way for me for 2 month now (astonishingly slow internet :D )
 
@sems4arsenal - ummmm... the thread isn't really just about PSN being offline. :D More on why the game has to ask 3x. But I hear ya. I didn't have PSN for about 3 weeks when we switched ISPs and have gotten that same login a lot more than most peeps.
 
Sounds like some of your heads are about to explode. It's not THAT bad.
 
Annoying yes but i wonder if it was implemented so we could still play more than Arcade mode if the network was down, so at this time may be a good thing. They have shut the network down, this can be to fix things but it also means they can trace problems and the cause of the problems, this includes gathering evidence on who caused it. Hope they get enough evidence to stop these guys forever, and the punishment dished out is appropriate for the crime that has affected so many people and lost them money.
 
Edit: Apologies to OP - misinterpreted the "why cant I log in" as reference to threads on here, not the message you get when booting up GT5 :D

He's just saying people are only really mentioning it now because they can't log into PSN and they've not seen the message before this. :)

To everyone, would unplugging you Ethernet cord solve the issue?
 
If you want to stop the messages you can turn off your PS3's network connection or unplug the ethernet cable from the back of your PS3. This will stop the game asking if you want to go online. The game doesn't check if you have access to the internet, just that you have a valid connection to a router.
 
Really hate it, don't know why PD made the game ask 3 times just before you get to the gt5 main menu. Makes me rage when it asks me for the 50th time, NO!

I would agree with you! just press O everytime it comes up!
 
I just disabled the internet connection in PS3 game settings. When I hear it's working again then enable. EDIT : Yes all that (would you like to sign in) B.S got old.
 
Unplug the Internet cord and it won't asked you again.
 
I occasionally get bad speed from my ISP (lol Australia). Kill the auto-sign-in upon bootup, stay offline while it's loading, then right before I enter GT mode sign into PSN.


For some reason it appears to NEED, urgently, to receive a packet from PSN whilst loading the main menu, and if it doesn't get it, the game can hang on either of the two loading logos at the start. Don't know why it needs those two bits, or why they couldn't just put a 15 second max timer on it, but there you go.

Both the login prompts and the above need to be sorted out, because GT5 is meant to be played more than annoy a gamer.

That's got to be as ingenious as most the stuff on this site: http://thereifixedit.failblog.org/

My PS3 is not connected to the router just so that I can play online. I use it to play movies on HDTV over wifi or watch on demand TV. Disconnecting it every time would be far more inconvenient and time wasting than clicking on "NO" three times, a couple of times a week.

This is just yet another lazy and ambiguous design feature in GT5. Since we've been practically beta testing the game for PD since the release, I thought it should be mentioned.

Like I said, my question was rhetorical. Plus, I wasn't asking for a solution to begin with!

I agree that it is very annoying and we do need to be very vocal about annoyances so that maybe word will find its way back to Polyphony and maybe, just maybe, they might eventually get around to fixing it. The fact of the matter is that it's very retarded to have to acknowledge that we're not connected to PSN several consecutive times every single time we go to play the game. Once should be enough.

When I'm not planning to go online for a while, I UNPLUG my internet line from my PS3. Makes life a lot easier, well, GT Life anyway.

Haha. This bugs me as well and I have thought about unplugging it so many times or even from the router which is in arms length every time I go to the kitchen....... Have I u plugged it....... No.... Haha
