Just from today I keep getting getting disconnected from lobby server whenever I join a lobby on gran turismo 5 with a message saying "disconnected from lobby". It always happens 5 minutes being in the lobby and is frustrating when I am racing mid game and BOOM "disconnected"! I am pretty sure this isn't my internet because I am still signed into playstation network and the internet on my laptop is working just fine. I am usually playing gt5 with a friend of mine and this problem never occurs for him. Also, I can join any lobby just fine, I just keep getting disconnected.

Does anybody know what this problem is? If so, is there a solution?

Try to clean your catche or try turning off your router an turn it back on. Another reason why you might be getting kicked from the room is that someone in the room has a bad connection an a bad ping. If some has a bad connection or a bad ping people get disconnected.

There is a known bug in GT5 that causes you to get disconnected from online rooms, it's do to with having background music on. If applicable, turn all music off in GT5 & see if that helps.

This does work.

OR before entering a room check the star, 3 stars - Bad Laggy 4 stars - Average 5 stars No lag. The ping/bar doesn't matter much but at least have one.

Well it ain't my cache and it ain't background music.

Had hassles since the last update.
The same hassles we had FIVE updates ago.....so in effect , we've come full circle

It has absolutely nothing to do with the updates. If that we're the case, everyone would have problems, not just a select bunch.

Just a note to anyone, if you are using Virgin or a subsidiary service provider, I can bet that's your problem.

If your PS3 is using the wireless connection to your router, outside interference such as microwave ovens, mobile phone towers etc etc can contribute to intermittent signal loss and cause these sorts of issues. Worth switching to a wired ethernet connection for a try if you are on a wireless connection
