I keep getting this popup while logged in.

Occasionally it appears, Firefoxes popup blocker blocks it once and then it appears again. This is while i'm logged in. I've scanned for ad-aware also.

Does anyone else get this?

Edit: Ok i've installed the latest nightly build and reset my profile as well. Damn I might as well go back to using ie. :indiff:
 
I keep getting a pop up. I dunno if its the same, but it anoys the hell outta me!
 
Never mind mine seemed to be becasue of something effing with Mozilla it seems to have gone now after I have reset my browsers profile and installed the newest nightly build.

I love the internet. :indiff:
 
We've got a new ad network and I think pop-ups have found a way in to member's ad rotations. Actually, I'm almost positive that's what is happening so don't worry about it much, guys. I'll try to get this taken care of.

Try the Adblock plugin for Firefox. It is much more powerful than the stadard popup blocker. Havent gotten a single popup I did not request since I installed it, and it does not block links that open in new windows (a problem I had occasionally with the standard popup blocker).

Also, it can block iFrame objects, freeing up the browser space used by these in-page ads.
 
Ok this morning I got a new popup, so i've installed that Adblock. Thanks to skip.

Also I seem to keep getting one banner appearing twice.

Oh and another question, are some of the adds regional?
 
Ok, I have to say that this is pissing me off something bad. It's only happening on this site and it's the only add I get when i'm logged in. It's happening on IE and Firefox, it seems completely imune to any popup blocker. My system seems free of adware, i've scanned it with spybot and looked through hijack this, which has returned nothing. I can't see any dodgy processes running on my machine.

I just don't understand how this can negate two popup blockers. I've re-added it to adblock, but I have a feeling it will generate a new one after a while.

Ok I turned off Javascript and it completely got rid of it.
 
You need to use wildcards with Adblock, otherwise it won't work that well. Like, for the example you gave,

Because that big directory probably chnges every time it loads to confuse popup blockers.

This is really bugging me as well.
 
Me too... I'm all for advertising to support a site, but these pop ups (that appear on *every* page click) will simply drive traffic away from the site.

You guys are still getting pop-ups...? You shouldn't be receiving any, now. I'll double check just to make sure.
 
I get one when I first into the community. Its just one, so I can deal. I did think it was kinda funny since I am already signed in due to the use of cookies and stuff.
 
It's changed to a different popup, and only came up once when first click on site after a while, which is fine by me..

I usually get a popup once a day always when I first visit the site for that day. Its an ad for ITT Technical Institute.
 
I don't use any sort of pop-up blocking programme, and use IE6.0 and the last time i had a pop-up advertisement or anything here was probably well over a month ago. :confused:
 
Looks like it has cleared up for me now, haven't had one for a while. Thanks :)

Guess what. As soon as I disabled Adblock in Firefox I got the pop-up but none in IE and Opera. I am completely baffled!
