I-Link question

I've have a quick question regarding I link which I can't find an answer to anywhere.....

I'm trying to organise an I-Link night with a few friends, so I've recently been going through arcade mode to unlock all the track/cars. (Even though I don't have to, I've been doing all three difficulties for a track just for the trophy count. How anal is that????!?!?!? :O )

I know that when the PS2's are hooked up, as long as I select the track, everyone can race it even if it's not unlocked on their memory card, but my question is, does the same thing apply for the cars???? If a guy hasn't unlock the Panzo but I have, can he still select it to race???

Cheers,

Rich.

no, he only can select the cars he unlocked in his own arcade-mode.

and unfortunatly you also can't race with you're own tuned cars!!:( .....

I recon that's rude.

I wanna race a Supra Vs Something else that is spin Cycle on Tahiti Maze. Or Skylines on Monte Carlo.

I had the same problem first time I tried this. You can get around it by starting the PS2's one at a time with your mem card in. Just wait till it has loaded the game data then take out the card with all the cars unlocked, put it in the next PS2 and start that one the same way. Then when everybody has the game running go into I-Link and everybody has the same cars unlocked.

Bit of a pain but it works ;)

Just let the others finish Arcade mode at Hard level - you'll get all the cars for normal and easy as well, and they'll have the necessary practice - iLinking is only fun if you are half-matched, after all. At least, that's my experience - the 27th we'll be having our third iLink event, the last we were 5 drivers, five playstations, so I do have some experience with this. ;)

Also make sure that everyone has the same TCS / ASM settings (I prefer TCS on, ASM off for iLinking). Also turn slow car boost off, because that makes you crazy - it's very hard to judge a corner when you're entering it with a differently powered car all the time. If there's a big difference between the skills of individual drivers then consider choosing a slower / harder car for the faster driver & vice versa.

I just came across this site: http://www.gtib.net/ which is quite nice on iLink stuff.

At this topic http://www.gt3times.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=5230&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=40 at GT3Times you can read about our event, maybe get some ideas.

Have fun!

A.

Hey Arwin looks like you guys had a lot of fun with your ilink session 👍

I've done the 6 player myself (with a few freinds) but it was all to easy for me i was whipping them left right and center:lol:
None of them are really into GT like i am and they don't like racing me because i beat them all the time :irked:

There is a few of us here in the UK trying to organise such an event ..
I hope it does take off ..It would be nice to meet the people behind the post's and to race them (live) allthough i will most likely get beat..(unless i opt for fish tailing tactic's)J.K na im not that bad..But it will be fun...:)

The cool thing about our group is that all of us are extremely competitive, and races are extremely tight. There have been races where there were hundredths of seconds difference at the finish line. There have also been races where one driver dominated, but then in another race another driver dominated. It's just been fantastic and very intense. I think we're very lucky with our current group!

I belong to a similar group . We usually get together about every two weeks. We award points for finish position, everybody puts $1 in the pot each time we meet. We keep track of the points. At the end of a three month season, The top points winner takes the cash.
