i was wondering where i can find the Ilink adapter that i can use for gran turismo and how muich it would cost

buy a 6 pin hub and then buy the 4pin (on one end) to 6 pin (on the other) cables.
available at best buy on e-bay most anyplace that sales electronics. You should have done a search on this topic I know it's here somewhere.

you cannot use your garage cars to race through i link so it gets boring quickly especially for the price. the cables run any where from 30 - 40 dollars. im not discouraging , just wanted to let you know cuz i did the same thing. if you like to race the "stock cars" they already have than i link is worth it

What? gets boring! No way is it boring racing with 5-25 of your friends regaurdless if it is in the same cars, which you don't necessarily have to run the same cars. No, you can't run out of your garage but we have had six machines ,tv's,wheels,cockpits all hooked up for years now and we still race once a week. It makes a person get used to driving with other humans which means everyone I race with is a veteran racer in the GT3 game so competition is very very stiff. With that said it makes the game playable forever because , yes it may be the same tracks,cars but when it's racing against humans the competitiveness goes through the roof and it's just like buckeling in your real race car on those nights when the MGTRA is having a race weekend. Sounds crazy but it still makes the adrenalin flow every time!

has anyone used a 25' or longer ilink cable? It's longer than the "rated" recomendation for the 1394 cables....but will it still work?

we're planning a battle night with multiple projectors in seperate rooms; and hence need longer cables. I've found some sites that sell 3-6 footers for less than $10, and the 25' cable for $26:

I have the good fortune to attend two SEGTP's in Ormand Beach, hosted by GB24hours and Gilles27...the very first race, people were in such anticipation that you could visably see their hands shaking as the countdown began. Racing with luminaries like Slowpoke, easyed, crazyhorse and others was a tremendous and exciting experience.

I still get together with the CFiLA (Central Florida iLink Association) three or four times a year (Cosi, Smooth, GB, Gilles, my brother Pariah, and myself). It's always a great time, and exteremely competitive.

Yes, it's a disappointment that one can only race Arcade cars, but when the level of competition is other human drivers, one hardly notices...

Looking forward to Online/XLink and LAN racing with GT4.

You know what I am talking about NoQ! It's just like when I race my real car, the adrenaline the excitement and the unknown! Once you set down it's like you are in your own world, one of the things that seperate the real and sim is that you can hear your competitors comments about your driving or about how they notice that you are taking that different (secret) line that took you months and months to master to perfection. I have raced some long races against others and it is soooo crazy when using tire wear and the different strategies us humans think up. I don't care what they say about game "AI" but it will never never never compare to another humans thoughts and actions! good or bad 👍

RSme, use a powered hub in the center of two long cables. I think fifteen feet is the max but if you run into and out of another powered hub you can go another fifteen. I hope this helps!

hmmm?? the one we have for extended cable is powered by plugging it in the wall outlet fing one of those it's a powered hub.

RSme, what youll need to do for your long cable is start with a 4 to 6 pin 15' wire to the powered hub then come out of that with a 6 to 6 pin 15' wire to your other powered hub which should be the one all of the other machines are hooked to. Kind of confusing but basically youll have two powered 6 pin hubs so youll need a 6 to 6 cable between the two hubs and then a 6 (to plug into the next hub) to 4 pin for your ps2. Ok, got it? Hey I wish everyone had a chance to have i-link party's it is a total blast and the game never gets old. Look back with the search option I posted pics along time ago of a party we had once.

The track we had our closest races on was midfeild. Most everyone runs in the 108's if I remember correctly and I know some people are like 108 isn't that fast but when you have to use multiple lines because everyone is in a tight pack the whole race, a 108 is pretty good considering 6 cars bumper to bumper. Cot'e dezure is also a real fun one.
