I was wondering how many registry members get a “tingle up their leg” when they get to run off road events. I love the challenge in the precision driving style that is needed for road racing on asphalt and concrete but the wild thing comes out in me when I’m hung out, wide open blasting through corners and catching air off the jumps.

I thought I would post a poll that speaks to the interest in the small bit of rallying or should I say “off road driving” that we get to do with GT5. Since I haven’t seen that many registry members in the Seasonal TT events like the Eiger last time and now the Toscana event, I just was curious as to how much interest there was.

As i said before, definitely would be interested in a WRS off-road event 👍

Actually I found out about the WRS from Letfy in the last eiger TT, and was trying to chase down Lefty and Mysterion71 last time , hence why I'm in WRS now:sly:

Mostly though it would be nice to see a CLEAN rally event, the last TT at eiger was marred by the top 5 or so 'slamming' into the difficult right hander to point them in the right direction (a bit like what they were doing in the latest Grand Valley TT up the top of the hill before the tunnel).

I would still participate but I've never been good at rally. Could be fun though.

I just tried the Toscana TT and placed 1361 Only 19 seconds off the current leader! I see your in the top 10! Nice. I hope you catch him. I loaded yor ghost but only saw him for 20 seconds or so! Good Luck

I find off-road in GT5 just too frustrating. Would probably take a week off if one came around.

I like variety and will give anything a go, but I'll probably be pretty awful at it.

It's the same for me, I would certainly have a go but I am not sure if I'll be any good or not.:)

Thanks, I wish there were as much energy for the off road tracks as there is for the asphalt stuff but I don't see that happening anytime soon :). The off road stuff is like going home to me and it's my chance to do what I know and comes naturaly to me.

They sound like fun to me, even though I haven't done a lot of them. Probably wouldn't be that good at it, but it would still be fun. Go Lefty!! 👍

For GT5 and GTP I'm in for almost anything so I'll go with offroad stuff as well, but I'm even worse off-tarmac than on- :D so don't expect much from me!

I loved the old Colin Mcray on PS2 & was mint at It, I completed Dirt though I didn't really enjoy It.
Truth be told I haven't done much off road stuff on GT5 the only time was with Lefty and son but I was following a snow cloud. (video on youtube GT5 snow cloud)
I've been trying to master road racing before I moved to the slippery stuff, But even road racing Is really testing for me. So I just keep putting rallying off.
I will have a go at It though bro, You know what I'm like.

Great :) it would be nice to see some of my friends on the friends leader board if not the top 260.

I have some great tweeks that help the car to run straight and quick out of the hole if anyone is currious as to my setups, just pm me or post something to the thread,

Rally driving is something I suck at badly (some may say something else I suck at badly :) ), however the WRS is all about improving your skills so I'd definitely be willing to have a go at a few of these events 👍

I'm sure it's going to be a lot of fun but my results will be same as ever: somewhere in the ranking's dungeons. But I don't mind: I'm always having fun with WRS 👍.

I see Zoky and Lefty is there, but Zoky is using his non GTP handle. Now I've got some GTP ghosts to chase :)

Can't wait to start!Loving the new seasonal on toscana!👍:)

I have absolutely zero experience with rally driving on a wheel. Tried it once and failed miserably.
It doesn't mean I won't do the event if one pops up in WRS, I'm always up for learning something new

You're in my sights mate :sly:

Damn you can kick out of that last corner! , about 3 car lengths behind you into there and then I loose about 1 second just there. Noticed you got a tight gearing, might give that a try.

Think it would be great event for WRS, mix it up a bit.
If you got a G27 you need to give it a rest after a while, the motor starts smelling warm :(

Edit: Ahh Zoky , just when I was getting closer. Master Lap Appears in position #1.
Oh well, at least we got 3 GTP drivers in the top 20 now :gtpflag:

Isn't there a some kind of some rule that says "if your out of uniform (running wo/ your GTP_ prefix) you have to load up a 100lb sack of cement in the trunk of the car" to slow the infracting driver down so that the properly badged members can catch up?

Update: WTF Zorky Zoky is now the fastest driver in the world "WOW" Great job dude
Sorry bro :dunce: lol

I just soften everything to 1 in rally events, i'm definately no tuner :dunce:
I also went for Stage 3 + Low Range Turbo, gives most torque.

@Zoky 1:40 , that much really left in it for you :scared:
Any tips on that last corner, I loose a heap just there. Is it better to try to stay tight, or to swing out wide and then straight line the exit? (I've been favouring staying tight)?

Lefty, as punishment Zoky needs to do the course in reverse, I think the cement won't be enough :)

Back to the topic of mixing it up, I would also like to see:

F1 Event (Perhaps in online free run mode)?
Nascar Event
Karting Event

@Zoky - amazing stuff :)

I had one go at the seasonal at Toscana - did 3 laps and my best was a 1:56 LOL

Off roading not really for me obviously. I was in a slightly rubbish Subaru 22B STi - but it wasn't far off the weight/HP limit!

My current count for the partisipation in the Toscana event as of today is 4,201 players so far :), there was over 12,000 for the Eiger event. It got really busy the last couple of days, it went from 9k to 12k.

I think you guys may be better than you think. The same principles apply, progressive throttle and brake application, just as you would in a circuit event. Rally is not about being completely sideways all the time.

3 laps is not enough to do yourself justice, you probably don't know the track and just like circuit, track knowledge is key. I was also starting in 1:52's or so because I didn't know the track yet. So loaded Zoky's ghost, turned on the driving line for an hour until I was more familiar with the track.

Same deal with the current Top Gear event, didn't know the track at all and was 5 seconds slower than my current submitted time.

Nice post, sidplayos2. 👍

Yeah I totally want offroad events, especially on dirt. :D

Yeah, I have to admit i'm not that good in the snow, but would still give it my best shot :)
Maybe they will surprise us with a snow event in pickup trucks .. LOL

I'll participate in any event they give us, whether I'm good at it or not (Just see my results for Week 7).
But I find those most rewarding, because I know if I can master those I have improved my skillset considerably.
