Nothing like a Wankel! I've had 3 and hope to get more in the future.

I'm very tired, and my vision right now is aweful for that reason.

Now, I came across this thread. My 1st thought wasn't Mazda.

The factory spec slant noses are pretty rare but you can always find one or two for sale on eBay. There was a kit in the 80's to do the conversion so you'll find lots of non-original slant noses too.

This one claims to be original...

I'd be interested to know what the body kit/mod in that movie is, I thought it might be an early Gemballa Avalanche, but that didn't make such radical changes to the rear of the car. It's almost like the (much later) GT1 in some respects. Looks pretty cool :)

The one in that E-bay picture does look like the slant nose option made available by Porsche themselves from the mid-eighties via their Porsche Kundenzentrum which catered for customers with big pockets who wanted a customized Porsche but who wouldn't want to go to a tuner or buy unofficial aftermarket parts.
You could specify whatever you wanted (and I think it's still there) and this slant nose was, I think, first custom-made for one individual but after huge (relatively speaking) demand became a more "regular" option.

The one in the movie looks like a replica Porsche 935 by the way.

I meant I was interested in what the car in Condorman was, but I could've been clearer! Was aware of the factory slant nose and the Gemballa kits (which sometimes added side vents etc. too) but these didn't mess with the rear of the car as much as the one in that movie.

Interesting info though on how the Porsche custom options worked :)

EDIT: Only just noticed your line about it possibly being a replica 935, this seems likely according to this although following the link to Wikipedia in the comments, it appears the reference to the Condorman car was removed from the Wiki entry.

WANKEL and yeah thats kinda weird..but then again I've got a ton of Corvette RM's (they see alot of use tho, some are 24H Le Mans winners). I guess everyone has their little piece of OCD insanity...

your right, mine is lancias and Alfa's

You should tell a lady "check out my Wankel!" I did this once, but I got slapped.

Why haven't I been doing this?

But on topic with GT5 yeah, I have a few doubles of the FCs for sure. ;)

I'd say that it's from late 70's or early 80's.. Looks disturbingly much like Knight Rider. :odd:

Pure porn is just scratching the surface. I'm heading out to Limerock park at the end of the month for the Grand Am Races. Close your eyes and listen to this video. You can hear the sound of the RX8s from anywhere on the track. The screaming sound echos off the hills like a raid siren.

This video has some more from different parts of the track. The RX8s are easily identifiable even over the roar of the Daytona Prototypes. Jump to about 12 minutes in.

I'm headed to VIR for the race there next weekend. I can't wait to hear all the Mazdas.👍

If you are doing a rebuild anyways why not streetport it or go Bridgey :)

Even tho I am not a Wankel-Holic, I tend to think of myself as a Lexus LFA-Holic I have each colour from the Dealership but I also own more than one for a certain colour...

Been a big Fan of these high revving oil burning Rotary Engines.... still crossing my fingers for a decent RX-8 replacement or a new RX-7 on the horizon! for now ill stick with GT5!!!

I would defiantly say a new rotary is making its way in the foreseeable future can't say when but I would guess 4-5 years maybe less.

I saw the CondorCar at a motor show at the NEC in, hmmm, the early eighties.

I reached up on tippy-toes (I was only eight or nine) to peek inside and was horrified to see a speedo, a steering wheel, and a gearshift. That was it.

No electrics, no VDUs, no radar tracking, nothing. You should never meet your heroes :D

EDIT: Ah, :D

my BNR stage 2 turbo runs outta steam with any bigger ports then stock, at that point I'm just choppin air. I also like the stock reliability (starting, idle, temp, sound) and the mpg increase with stock ports. I'm not looking to have my car idle at 2k rpm or have the loudest RX7.

So you have a 13B-REW in a S3? Having a streetport wont make your car idle at 2000 rpm. A bridgeport idles at 1500 rpm's. If you did a peripheral port you would idle at 2000 rpm's but not a bridgeport. I only suggested porting cause I thought you had a N/A but since you are already turbo I would suggest staying stock port as well to maintain the most low end torque as possible. I can see why you sold the FD lol. FD power in a 1st gen= Faster than a FD lol

its a S5 T2 motor with the FD UIM, Map sensor, TPS, and TB. last time in 2007 on the dyno it made 303whp @ 6,400rpm and 285 tq 4,800rpm. I used an adaptor plate between the s6 uim and s5 lim so it all fit up. And yes it is faster then a street port FD with 99 spec turbos :)
