Hi guys,
I was wondering if you guys can help me with choosing some PS2 games. My mother is going to Thiland tonight [23-8-06] and she asked me if i wanted any games. But the problem is i havnt been keeping up with whats really going on in GAME WORLD.
I had a quick look around the web but carnt seen to see much that i like or for what ever reason.
I need you guys to tell me what games are good thats all. Games that you like playing even if i might not like them.

The type of games im looking to get are:
RACING GAMES
FIGHTING GAMES.Like SOCOM,THOSE SORT OF ARMY SPECAIL FORCES SORT OF THING
And perhaps some girlie games to keep the girlfriend happy:)

I second, third and fourth that. 👍

I receintally got Killzone for 14 quid and damn, I think that's the best 1400 pennies I've chucked away in quite a while, it's a futuristic army shooter. Gets my recomendation.
 
Unless you then get the better GT3.
Anyways: Battlefield 2, SOCOM II or 3, Red Faction
Gran Turismo 3 and/or 4, Need For Speed: Hot Pursuit II, Burnout 3 Impact

Guitar hero is like DDR except with guitars.

Katamari is an awesome game that your gf would love, because noone can resist it. It's a puzzle game involving rolling things up.
 
NIGHTCLUB: although a member here posted for you to get BF2, i suggest you dont if you are wanting to play it online. The Australian survers have all died reciently and have made the game totally unplayable, the lag is unbareable.

SOCOM 3 turned out to be terrible, however SOCOM 2 is still active and fun, there are plenty of great clans still active that have great leaders willing to take on board n00b's and show them all the tricks.

V8 Supercars 3 is also fun online, there are again many great clans, some of which are multi game clans that are also involved in SOCOM and BF2 (PC).

Visit http://www.kickasscrew.com - they are a good multi-game clan

For V8 Supercars there is http://www.bfgracing.com - BFG are a specialist clan for hardcore racers, they take online racing very seriously and have a massive member list, the largest of any on V8's. (KAC/KickAssCrew are also involved in V8's with a smaller more fun championship series).
 
NO GAMES AT ALL. Thailand is a freaking piracy state. Sony is not offering games in Thailand, and there are maybe 2 shops in the whole country who offer official imports.
So if you want to support software piracy, well that is your decision.
When I think about it... this thread is almost an AUP violation, since, believe me, you won't be able to find other games there... just illegal copies. And piracy will not be discussed on GTP.
 
These are the games I recommend to anyone that has a PS2.

You should at least rent this one for sure. Very good FPS. If you can at least get through level 5 you will be very happy. All bullet holes stay, excellent explosions, complete level destruction, good graphics.
Gauntlet Dark Legacy
Excellent hack and slash style game. More fun if you have friends to join you.
Toca Race driver 3 and Enthusia
Timesplitters 2 and Timesplitters 3 shooters
Burnout 2, Burnout 3 , Need For Speed: Hot Pursuit II arcade race car games
 
After a second read through the first post, there is no longer any point in replying - his mother would be in Thailand already. It is 10:10pm here, same time as where NIGHTCLUB is, he posted that yesterday, therefore his mother left last night.

I think this thread can be closed now before anyone gets confused or wastes their time posting. 👍

Well anyway i do buy alot of origanal games, but this time ive got the chance to buy afew games at once so ill take. Plus its not illegal to buy these games and bring them back to Australia.

Ive played BLACK on a friends XBOX and it rocks! that was the first 1 i asked for.

Ive got heaps of replys from thread and aloty more then i imagined. Thanks alot guys youve really helped me out.

Well I don't think it is legal to import piracy software. Maybe customs don't care or don't even realize that these games are copies, but fact is, that you steal the product. You pay a few $ to a criminal who cracked the code and made an illegal copy. Neither Sony nor the developer/publisher will see 1 cent, although they invested millions. So it is stealing or copyright protected software, and it doesn't change just because you bought other original games or because local customs tend to be realxed with everything concerning software piracy.
Well, you are an end user and I don't want to say that you are an evil criminal, don't get me wrong. But you support it, and by discussing you (at least imo) clearly violate the AUP of GTP...
 
The original premise behind this thread was to name some good games. Where he gets them from is his own business. Now that its clear that he is getting pirated versions, I have no option but to lock this thread.

Piracy will not be discussed here.
