i'm working on a project, and i need to know something...
1 - who owns the rights to the F1 trophies, Formula One or the perspective tracks?

I would like to know this ASAP - and if any photos could be provided that would be great 👍 :dunce:

i'm working on a project, and i need to know 3 things..
1 - does anyone have a photo [or link to one] of the trophy for monza in 05??
2 - is the red LEDs on the back of the F1 brakelights, or yield lights during rain?
3 - Is the thing on the top of the car yellow lights for yield lights?

I can't help on the Monza trophy, but the following three .pdfs should be of assistance.

http://www.fia.com/resources/documents/548514743__2006_F1_SPORTING_REGULATIONS.pdf

http://www.fia.com/resources/documents/1603301296__2006_F1_TECHNICAL_REGULATIONS.pdf

http://www.fia.com/resources/documents/1737314985__2005_F1_Drawings.pdf

The red light (refered to as the rear light) is for use in rain or other situations of poor light (as determined by the race steward), see P15 of the sporting regs (first document), P34 of the technical regs (second document) and the pictures on the third supporting document.

All three are this years regulations from the FIA, which should be more than enough for your needs, as far as yellow lights go, I must confess that I;m not 100% sure what you are referring to, but if its on an F1 car or part of an F1 race its going to be in those three documents.

What thing? The only thing on the top of the cars is the housing for the TV camera. There are no lights in it.

thanks for that info, but thats the 06 trophy for monza... im looking for 05.

It says '05 right behind Montoya's head...

Notwithstanding the fact that it's Montoya's head.

Great info there Scaff 👍

Thanks 👍

If you find that of interest you may like the page that links to those three documents.

http://www.fia.com/sport/Regulations/index.html

The full list of all FIA technical regulations are linked to from the list on the right, have a good look around the site and you will find homologation details, press releases, etc.

Great source of info and one I often use.

I have ONE more question! ..

who owns the rights to the F1 trophies, Formula One or the perspective tracks?

FOM -- Formula One Managment I think.

And my question. Look at the sitasion: leader overtake a driver, who is in a lap behind. how many time have driver, who is a lap behind, to pass leader.

eh?:dunce:

lol - translation: If you've been lapped by the leader; how many times do you have to pass him to be on lead-lap?

-- once to pass him, twice to pass & be in first.

The TV camera on the top is a way of indicating the driver. #1 drivers always have that bright red paint. Second driver's cameras are just black, probably unpainted carbon fiber.

^ any one know about this one?? with a link somewhere would be awesome. Thanks for all the other info though guys, i found it pretty interesting that the camera color is different.👍

.. ok? [posted another set of questions in the first post]

If it's for a project, shouldn't you do some of your own research?

Sure, asking people is research, but you can't expect people to spoon feed you answers.

For the answer to question 2 and any other technical or regulation related question you have follow the link I posted in Post 9.

You will find a complete set of all the FIA technical and sporting regulations, which will not just allow you to answer the question, but provide the single most authoritative source for it you will ever get.

i was reading those before i posted the question; i dont see anything in reguards to a DQ-retirement versus a wreck-retirement as far as the end results are concerned.. :ouch:

You need to read this one

http://www.fia.com/resources/documents/1158037540__International_Sport_Code_a.pdf

regarding FIA penalties as applied to all FIA events

and then this one

http://www.fia.com/resources/documents/548514743__2006_F1_SPORTING_REGULATIONS.pdf

In regard to race classification and penalties (just do a Ctrl + F and search for each word).

Thanks scaff -- got that answer, apparently i missed a few paragraphs. :).. but i'd still like to know who owns the rights to the trophies.

I would have thought the circuits have the rights for the race trophies but the FIA have rights over the Championship trophies.

Once a race has been won, the winning team own the trophy. If the driver wants to keep the trophy, a copy is made for him.

Thanks for the help guys.. my part in said project is done; your input was quite helpful :) i was working on F1 Champion Edition.

That's not nice... I always thought the winning team owned the race constructor's trophy, while the driver did the same with the 1st/2nd/3rd one :/

I think it is the race organiser (ie the track) who provide the trophies. I'm not sure if Dunc is correct about the teams owning the drivers trophies and if the driver wants one a copy is made. I know for sure that, although i'm going back a few years now, Niki Lauda hates the trophies he won - he used to give them all away to his local garage who used to put them in their window - he just wouldn't have them in his house. I doubt he'd go to the trouble of having replicas made just to give away. I've also read loads of stories of drivers having trouble getting their trophies on a plane at airports with luggage limits.

Perhaps it's just some teams that do that. I think I heard that McLaren do it, I may be wrong though. Someone definately does it.

- probably a team that needs all the silverware it can get its hands on.
