I Need Help On Drifting With No Aids!!!

I've been playing for a while now and I'm pretty good at drifting with the aids on but I've seen people say no aids is better. I tried it and it is really hard for me. Can someone give me tips on how to drive without aids on my cars? It would help to to give me tips on accellerating with out making the car burning its wheel all the time. :nervous: 👍

why would you nee help if your the number 1 drifter? :dunce:

like lllb0y said, less throttle...and maybe try upgrading your tires, if all they do is spin...

Here's a tip: don't start with aids on. Since you did, it'll be a hard learning experience without them on. It's like riding a bike without the training wheels for the first time. At first, it's hard, but then you practice more and more and eventually you will be able to do more things with them off than you could've ever done with them on.

You mean you can drift with them on???!!! WTF?? :odd:

If you are using a DFP it's all about being smooth, with the trottle, and the steering. And DON'T OVERCORRECT!!
If you are using a DS2, then, good luck too ya, you're just going to have to get use to it.

And tyre type should vary depending on power and car type. I just buy all the N tires for every car (they're free, you know?) And just put on what ever feels the best. Generally, I use N2's.

N2's, practice every day for at least 10 minutes.
pick a favorite course, practice that most of the time.
work your way up from high power to low power(its backwards in drifting lol)

Not in real life ;) I'd rather crash a cheapo car than a high powered monster. And not to mention the amount of clutches one would go through.

But this is a game, so go nuts!

How should I set my LSD and Weight Distribution? Setting with aids is different with no aids. How about my tranny?

...how about search...

oh bugger, i'll save you the trouble. Click the link in my sig, gives some very general guidelines for just about everything

alright, you're saying you need help drifting with driver aids right...yeah...so here...buy the full customize lsd...don't put initial, accel and decel high, or else you won't get the right drift, i think. usually with no aids, get n2 tires, and put lsd initial around 15-20, accel near 30-45, and decel around 10-15. It worked for me, maybe you just gotta practice some more and get better?

eh, how the funk & and wagnalls do you drift with aids on. Anyway, i keep the limited slip accel 60 and every thing else stock, that way, it's harder to break loose but is more unpredictable whilst drifting but, the tires will keep spinning after you let off, if you got a kinda light and powerful car. I recently have been using softer compound tires from both sports and racing. If you do that, you can get more speed in the straight, then dive into the apex like there is a magnet, nail the throttle till she gets around, once it breaks loose, let off to see if it keeps going, doing this for a while will tell you how your car's backend behave's and how much throttle, stay light on throttle and heavy on counter-steer, but be quick to react or you will countersteer to long and spin the other way. GL :)

If you're new to drifting without aids start with something low powered and easy to drift. Get a Silvia K's (S13 or S14) or a 200sx/Sileighty and start with that. They come with factory LSDs and require you to learn techniques as opposed to just power oversteer. Try N1/N2 tyres and you'll get nicely sideways. Drifting standard cars is the best place to learn. Drifting an older car with no LSD is a good way to learn throttle control. You have to be careful and stop one wheel from spinning all the time.

I've been trying and now i'm getting better at the throttle control now.

Mad Murphy are u saying i should drift a completely stock silvia? or are u saying tune it up but leave out LSD?

fergamasco
Drift a silvia but with a new exaust, stage one turbo, and road tyres on the frount and luxery on the back, works every time.....

Mixing tires should be a last option... Not the best tool for learning...

N1's or N2's all around is just fine...

mixing tires is a last option? Ok, :) got it.

In real life they run Sport Medium compound front tires and Hard compound rear tires in Formula D all the time. In my Z (still in the shop) I always run good, performance front tires and cheapo used economy tires in the rear. It helps the car drift in dry weather, and improves drift control in wet weather.

So, I have absolutely no prob mixing tires. Although if you can do it with same Front and rear that's different. And I always want the most grip I can possibly get away with and still be able to drift well. (Never go above Sport Hard) Because you can get better drive out of the corners and keep your speed better while on the throttle drifting. Not to mention that it gives better control.
