GTP_Thiele (PSP only)
nope
i searched:D

i can't access my e-mail because Outlook Express keeps getting this message whenever starting:

:(

i've sent the error report like 20 times

so if i forget my password and i'm not on GTPlanet for a while you'll know why because i forgot my password at emuforums and now i'm locked out until i can access the e-mail and use my new password

i'm locked out of emuforums until i get Outlook Express working again:indiff:

this happens a lot with IE aswell so i'm using Firefox now:D

Microsoft Outlook won't let me create an account so that's out of the window

any help would be appreciated i just hope that my GTPlanet cookies don't get deleted or i'll be locked out of GTPlanet aswell:nervous:

edit: i didn't do anything but it's working now

edit2: now it's not working again

edit3:stuffit now i'm using thunderbird anyway

Well, that's just a generic error message and without a background history or more details you won't get a solution to your problem. You need to tell us exactly what happened in the run-up to getting this message for the first time, any changes you've made and what you've tried to do (if anything) to solve the problem.

You could, on the other hand, switch to a superior (IMO) mail client, like Thunderbird or Foxmail.

Outlook Express seems to be working now, but no doubt it'll do it again sometime

IE7 does it occasionally aswell

Doesn't Thunderbird put your messages at the end of the original message when replying though. :blegh:

@lthiele: I assume you've tried rebooting your computer in between attempts at opening OE?

It sounds like there's a corrupt message in your mailbox. Have a look around the net, see if you can find anything to repair Outlook Express mailboxes.

now i use OE again, but it's set as my default e-mail but thunderbird's still pinned to the start menu

ok

live messenger's working ok after i got rid of a virus i downloaded with Limewire

but IE is still having problems:banghead:

but IE has always sucked:P and i use FireFox now

live messenger and OE still won't start sometimes

i've located 4 viruses:( but my virus scan says it can't heal or delete:nervous: them so i'll have to try and do it myself

it's in c/recycler or something

edit: help!!! i can't find the direcory:nervous:

edit2: i had to type it in because windows explorer wouldn't show it:banghead:

edit3: wtf!? there's nothing in that folder, please help, the virus is probably eating up my computer right now and i can't delete them!!!!:nervous:

i've sent the error report like 20 times

No matter how many times you send it, Microsoft is not going to get back to you about your problem. ;)

Firstly, can you give us more information about the viruses, the virus scan you're using, the exact location of the folder, and whatever else you can provide?

I can help you prevent future infection by giving you some helpful tips about proper maintainence and safer browsing, but unfortunately I don't have a solution to your current problem.

here's the directories:
C:\RECYCLER\S-1-5-1547161642-1214440339-682003330-1007\Dc1417.zip
C:\RECYCLER\S-1-5-1547161642-1214440339-682003330-1007\Dc1417.zip\YSB_toolBar.exe

i'm using AVG free edition, and it says it can't delete the virus because it's an archive or something and when i type the path in Windows explorer it says:
"cannot find file: C:\RECYCLER\S-1-5-1547161642-1214440339-682003330-1007 please make sure the path or internet adress is correct"

When i try to go to the folder and when i just go to C:\RECYCLER, it comes to a folder with nothing in it:confused:

i'm not sure but i have a feeling that the virus has something to do with my IE, OE, and live messenger problem, the normal messenger hasn't had a problem yet

Is your Recycle Bin empty? If not, empty it.

Log on to every account you have on your computer and empty the Recycle Bin.

Then check if the files are still there.

i'm just running virus scan now

OE seems to be working now

edit: yay no virus, IE is still getting an error though:indiff:

okay, now avg has detected another virus:

C:\system volume information\_restore545454514671756489056.exe (not the actual number)

c:\system volume information doesn't sound good:nervous: is this bad?

Again, I'm not on XP, so this is from memory (and a little help from the internets):

  1. Right click My Computer icon
  2. Choose Properties > System Restore
  3. Check the box: Turn off System Restore on all drives
  4. Hit Apply
  5. Restart

It is important that you restart. Do another virus scan, then turn the feature back on.
