Tuning the tranny is complex and so many things come in to play, fortunately the Top Speed adjuster should be all you need. It takes a good understanding of gearing to beat the auto tuner.
My suggestion would be learn as much as possible about transmissions and when it comes to tuning them you'll have developed your own take on the process.
