I have easily gotten 1st place in the Real Circuit Tours seasonal event using the Sauber Mercedes C9 Race Car. Unfortunately, I am having trouble getting anything better than 3rd using that car on the final race which is at The Ring. Does anyone have any suggestions as to which car would have the greatest advantage at that final race? And then could someone help by giving me the ideal top speed and other important settings for that car at The Ring? I am using a Dualshock 3 and to give you an idea of how far off from 1st place I am, I usually finish in 3rd place about 10-8 seconds behind the winner and that usually includes 1 maybe 2 slight trips into the grass and side rail. Any tips would also be of great help. Thank you very much!

To be honest there are plenty of cars that can win at the Nurb in the RCT race. I did it in a not actually fully modded McLaren F1 (just!).

If you want settings for any cars you want, they're all right here for you. The C9 has 3 tunes on there.

Also maybe turn on a few aids to tame your C9, wait for a Toyota 7 to be in front, take it easier around the 'Ring to stop crashing off.

Nurb is more about knowing the track. I beat this race with every LMP and Group C car in the game with stock settings ... top speed, gears, downforce, etc, all aids off, and racing hard tires ... so no tunes are needed and they are all capable of winning.

I would say the Sauber is not the easiest one to drive (though it's one of the fastest), but that may be a matter of personal opinion. I think the Peugeot 905 is the easiest to drive due to its lack of torque.

Also, when you start your race try and get the Toyota 7 on pole and you will have an easier time. If the Minolta or Pescarolo start on pole they can be pretty quick.

Yeah, I did it in a 787B, the key was to get past the pack BEFORE they get past the Toyota 7. I'm speaking for DS3 users, I could have won it with any car with my wheel, but if you're having trouble with a pad, look for that Toyota 7 and drive fast & hard and you should be able to catch the top 3-4 stuck behind the T7.

Setting split time targets helps in erasing that feeling of impending doom when you race on the 'ring. I always think of it as multiple mini-races (courtesy AMG academy challenge) and focus on each sector without thinking of what is coming up too far ahead.

One thing you need to know about this particular seasonal event and track is: You can win it with a car that is 100-125pp less than 750pp AI. However, the stronger car you do choose, the HARDER your scripted AI will be (talking about 1st 3 cars in pack). I believe they are adaptive to your driving style, and choice of car. If you choose the C9, you better be good at driving it, because the AI will be that much better at driving it quicker, than if you chose a BMW GTR, or Acura Arta NSX or Nissan GT500 Yellowhat. where the A! will drive slower to allow you to catch up.

No room for any error, regardless of pp you choose. 625 - 750pp.

This is my favorite seasonal to date, It allows for many cars in your garage to be won with. I beat the C9 with a Nascar too. again, this is only subjective to the way this seasonal is programmed.

I have driven this seasonal enough times, to count as 2x+ 24h Endurances combined. (still havent done the 24h one though)

The Bentley is a good drive, so's the 908 or the Minolta.

Impress your friends by winning in a premium McLaren or the GT40, or even the Zonda R.

Don't even think about detuning a Ferarri F1 car.

As Obsidian has stated, winning at Nurb is all about knowing the track. i used to have MAJOR troubles with that track till i swallowed the bullet-so to speak- and raced the Nurb 4 hour enduro. that race more than any advice helped me to learn the track. once you know the track you start looking for more challenges...like taking my Lotus Carlton, Jensen Interceptor, Jag XF and Jag XJ13, going onto Racing hards or even Sports mediums and trying to win the RCT.

All other tracks pale in comparison to the Nurb!

I finally did it the other day, after many, many tries, with some advice from Obsidian-2 and others on this thread:

https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/showthread.php?p=5880412#post5880412

The other thing I did was turn all HUD info off. I decided it wasn't going to help. I wanted to concentrate on one thing, and one thing only.... eating up the tarmac ahead as quickly as possible. Times, speeds, gaps, race order, position on the track, gear, revs, tyre wear, etc. was just a complete distraction, and of no real use whatsoever. Turn it off, and concentrate on the road!

I saw the posts about the Toyota 7 starting in front making it easier. The times I won, it was with the 7 in front.

I too have been distracted by all the information that can be displayed. Turning it off will allow you to concentrate better.

I used the 905 and the Toyota CV88. Tried several and most of the time the Minolta was in front and I couldn't quite catch it.

Formula GT, 510HP, added full weight, minimal downforce. Keep the weight balance 47/53 and add some more toe-in on the rear, with rear extension to 10 and front compression to 9, works for me!

Stock Nissan R89 would do the trick. (would you like to get my set up? DFPro @ FF7 manual tranny R3)

Very important advises here, but I think this is the more important one. The Toyota 7 will be sandbagging the fastest LMP and Group C cars by about a 1/3 of the lap, It's a lot easier if you overtake them by then. But don't get too distracted, the 7 could escape and in the long straight is very very fast.

But ti isn't much harder than other tracks, put a little TC maybe to help tame the beast :)

Yeah the Toyota 7 makes a big difference to the lead pack.

I completed this seasonal on my 2nd attempt ( 2nd completed lap - I aborted one attempt when I spun it in a high speed section and ended up 180 deg and stopped )

In the first attempt my completed lap time was 8min and 1sec with the leader 8 seconds ahead of me.

Then the successful completion was with the toyota7 holding the leaders up. My laptime was 8minutes clean.

I know that the lead bunch of 3 cars: Toyota7, 787B and a Pescarola Judd were holding me up, I would catch up behind them and then have a little issue run off line - due to having my view of the track blocked by the cars in front. I'd lose time to them, but then easily get it back and repeat like 4 times. We didn't get past the Toyota7 until the long straight that heads back to the finish

I tried many cars thinking I needed the fastest..the C9, Minolta Toy, 787 but ultimately I decided a post I read here was correct: that the competition was in someway scaled to the car one used. So I decided to try a few 'off' the pace cars. First up I tried teh Pescarola Judd 05 car. Bingo! car handled great, had enough power not to loose much in straights but often pulled faster cars coming out of turns. And the competition just seemed to be soft...or at least the car worked so well catching and passing were easy.
So on my second attempt with it I took the lead before the carrousel and had no problems motoring away while not crashing(that happened the first attempt with the PC05) despite using the new cockpit view which of course has much poorer road visability-but still the only way to drive IMHO. Between the view and the howl of that Judd it was almost too much fun :D oh yeah 7:56 and thats with at least 6 offs but no spins

I did the other day, LOL. 💡 My God was I in for a surprise.

If this is true then it should be easy to outsmart the game. I'd get in a detuned car that was 125pp low of the 750 limit, then right before the race starts I go in and up the pp tuning. It should keep the slower dumber AI in place. (I do this with same make races in practice)

Did the ring event right after doing the FGT seasonal at the ring. I chose the Minolta at 720PP on race hard. After the FGT the Minolta felt like a dump truck. I kept running off the corners cause it wouldn't brake or turn! Well, it wouldn't brake or turn like the FGT anyway. :dunce:

After I got recalibrated it was an easy win. The C9 started on the pole and ran away but I caught him at the Karousel and cruised to victory.

I'm gonna have to try to win this with a lower pp car now. I've won it already but it took me a while. I had to go through a couple of different cars and finally got it with the Suzuki Escudo.

I think I did it with the 2J, it's a giant killer on those events, but will check, or more likely try it again.

It´s funny. Regardless which event it is, 90% of the time i get the leader at the karousel. Sometimes i´m real quick and get him before, but most times the karousel is the place where you catch the leader :)

btt: i won this event with many lmp and group c cars. no problem at all. Sometimes when i spin the car 3-4 times it is close and i get second. Even with many mistakes you can win this event easily.

As mentioned before, learning this track is more important than anywhere else due to it's length, narrowness and undulations. Why not run the A-Spec 4Hr enduro (slightly different 'V' layout, but close enough) and get fully acquainted. Then come back to this and I guarantee you'll walk it. ;)
