I'm not to crazy about the Minolta. It is fast but not the most stable of the Group C cars, hard on fuel and tires.

My pick is the Audi R8 LMP, that car is very good pretty much every where and can easily win any race in GT with its stock settings.

Wow, my experience is just the opposite, best money I have spent in GT6, murders everything, and is pretty easy on gas/tires for the performance it has.

It really can't hang with the R8 on tracks with a lot of corners, It is faster down the straight on Lemans but harder on tires and fuel than the R8.

IMO R8 is the best overall LMP in the game and has been in GT 4,5 and 6

i recently drove the FXX ,
What a car , perfect , stock , abs off , sport hard tires , pure fun ..
it honestly blew my mind instantly !
(brakes at 4 4)
it's an awesome car!

Interesting. I'll buy an R8 and do some testing, nothing better to do since I'm sitting at 101%.

I know you've already got this solved, but I highly recommend buying the Pescaloro c60 Judd '05. Very nice car, and can be used in any event that it' s parameters meet in the 650-750 range. Only 750 I've tried in it is Like the Wind though.

Note that there is more than one R8 in the game, the Playstation model is not as strong as the Silver one with red or yellow tip. Audi R8 '01

A little real life info on the car
The Audi R8 is a sports-racing car prepared for the LMP900 class at Le Mans and in the American Le Mans Series. The car was developed by Audi Motorsport and Joest Racing and first debuted in 2000, winning the 12 Hours of Sebring.

The R8 won Le Mans five times (2000, 2001, 2002, 2004 and 2005) and the overall season championship in the American Le Mans Series six times in a row (from 2000 to 2005).[2]

In 2002, the Audi R8 was the first car to beat the Toyota TS020 GT ONE's qualifying lap record from 1999.[citation needed]

The R8 won a hat trick at Le Mans in 2000-2002, campaigned by Audi Sport Infineon Team Joest and driven by Tom Kristensen, Emanuele Pirro and Frank Biela. First time out in 2000, the team won a 1-2-3 finish, which was just a small preview of what this all-new Audi was capable of. Since then, the Audi R8 has won numerous championships and races, including further wins for 'privateer' teams at Le Mans in 2004 and 2005.

In 2003 the Bentley Speed 8 got the win which ironically used a modified R8 engine and a former R8 driver

Glad it helped!
You can also try to remove the rear wing downforce and set some downforce on the front, it will understeer less/oversteer more - but it will also be more rear wheel spin prone, so use it at your own risk.
Personally I like oversteering/tail happy cars, and actually thats what I do, drive a R92CP with no rear downforce, its challenging and fun at the same time. I can have a hard time in some corners but when you get to the straights its surely rewarding.
But it's obviously not a suitable car for twisty tracks.

Yeah I hate understeer, you really need to be spot on with entrance speed. She's got a big back side and it handles like it. So far I haven't changed cars since I bought it. I didn't pay attention to fuel and got hosed in one race so she's no longer undefeated.

I would recommend the bentley its fast as hell and it'll surely beat any 908. It an overall good car, looks good with a premium interior.
