I Need Your Help!

Hi,

As the title says, I need your help. As part of my Graphics GCSE coursework (Year 11) I have to conduct certain ways of researching my target audience. One of these ways is a questionaire, know what I've done previously is given the questionaire to my parents and let them deliver it to their work mates etc, however this year is the one that really counts. Sure, I could let my parents do the same again, but their work mates aren't what I would call my target audience. My target audience is people like you, people who share a passion for cars. Now I must keep stressing this is for my coursework, nothing else the results of the questionaire will affect the final product in some way but the results will not be passed on to be used by anyone but myself in this project.

Just to give you guys a basic idea of what I'm going to be making. The product I'm making is a promotional packaging for a supercar rental company so it would include information on the cars etc, as well as a nice promotional box to contain all the information in (Something like what you might get from a press release of a new car). Basically its being created as if I was going trying to sell a rental day with you or anyone for that matter.

Yet again, please don't let this bit slip this is for my coursework only and will not be used on anything else. There isn't what I would call too many personal question in it, and if you prefer not to voice your opinion in this thread just drop me a PM with your answers in. It's no hassle if you want to do it that way.

On to the actual questions, some may seem a bit weird but they've been double checked by the teacher so they are fine for what I'm doing.

Thanks Famine for making those corrections, I'll edit the post immediately and print out a copy so I can edit the edition at school to be correct as well. It's funny though, most of the class and even the teacher spells Questionnaire as "Questionaire", I didn't even know until I looked into the Oxford Dictionary once you pointed it out. It's excellent to see someone help me, I know my grammar and spelling isn't perfect, but if I say that I'm one of the best in class that gives a idea of what the rest are like.

This needs to be triple checked. The grammar and spelling are not good. I hope that the actual questionnaire, in its current form, doesn't count against you when it comes to your grade.

I apologise, I'm sure I'm not usually as bad as that. Please don't worry about it counting against me at the moment, it won't. This is due to the way coursework is run: each individual student does the all the work before the teacher see's the work. This means that I can change anything, as long as I do it before I hand the coursework in on the final date of March 21st.

Well, I took my previous (Mock Coursework) very seriously and got a A on my mock and intend to do the same again (Hopefully!). By me running the questionnaire on the internet in the place of my target audience (Car enthusiasts) and then documenting the fact I have put the survey onto a car enthusiast site means I get more marks for directly approaching my target audience.

I don't think it's very wise just plain removing it. The exam board won't be too pleased if it looks like you've simply forgotten to include a sizable age group. If you're going to remove it, make sure you've included a bit somewhere about why you've discounted that age group.

To be honest though, I'd just leave it in there. It's not something the exam board are going to call you up on - they really don't go into that much depth in this section. It's a case of "Right, he's done 10 questions and asked 10 people and he's not talking rubbish. Tick!". If in doubt, ask your teacher really.

If it's anything like A2 Resistant Materials you only get 1 mark for it anyway. Admittadley you need that one mark to be able to reach the next tier of marks, but its still only 1 mark.

In GCSE statistics in the questionnaire section (and business studies) they would pick you up on appropriate groups to your target audience, I don't know how strict the mark scheme is for this subject, but I thought if it was no hassle, it could easily be written up in a review of the project as to why it hasn't been included, which helps boost you're final review and evaluation a little bit, if those sections are to be done anyway.

It doesn't really help his cause that he is asking around here, where probably 90% of everybody will give the same answers, and very few of us will probably be able to rent a supercar someday.

As for the age situation, the vast majority will probably be 16-25 anyway.

Discarding the 0-15y group would be the same as discarding the group who say "No" to question 3. It's a group to whom any final product would have no application.

Nevertheless, it is important to include the raw results and say why they aren't included in any analysis.

Well, depends what market you're going for. I think it's more important to think about the setting, rather than the car. The potential consumer already knows he wants to rent a car, the question is, has he thought what he might be doing with it? But since you ask, B) DB9 (With appropriate passenger and luggage in view, in front of a stately home-type hotel... or possibly Stoke Poges Golf Club. )

Oh, and I see no problem with a 12 year old being instructed how to drive a supercar on a closed circuit, as long as they were insured. And the instructor put the fear of Beelzebub into them. And the owner didn't mind the very real possibility of firey supercar destruction.

P.S. I have it on good authority () that Aston Martin do visit schools for careers advice. If you ask your school to write to AML, they may well be able to 'drop in'. Don't know why I didn't think of that before.

I'll be leaving the "0-15" category in, so then in my evaluation I can achieve more points and therfore boost my grade.

Regarding Venari, although your right that the colour choice and logo design does not influence the customer into being intrested in my product, it is something which has to be included in the survey so then the design can be altered according to my results. It doesn't make a difference to your personal buying it makes a difference to the product.

And I'll have to talk to my teachers about the AML School thing...
