I hope they never impliment save points in endurance races.

Are there some specific reason you don't want that to happen?

So, you golded all the license tests and special events?

Did you complete A-Spec fairly by using cars that are no more powerful than the typical opponents?
Why would you need to do that in order to become bored and stop playing?

I won't ever feel that about this game...it's amazing, if your getting bored playing single player, hop online, it's fun to just mess around and talk about cars, there is more to this game then you guys think.

This.
What I did in GT5:Prologue is I drove all cars arround High Speed Ring and wrote down every cars' lap times.
When I get bored I just drive, tune and compare lap times.
You just need imagination, c'mon - the game has 1000 cars, you can't get bored.
Edit:
Oh and 2 player split screen!
When my mates come we play it and have loads of fun.
For example, we took Citroen 2CVs 'round Nurnburgring, took us 32 minutes.

Honestly, I don't understand. I play, maybe 15 hours a week since the game came out, I am level 30 ish in A spec. But, I could care less about the level. I spend most of my time in pratice with a new car every 4-5 hours. There is around 300-400 great cars that are worth learning, tunning, even changing pieces and obviously driving. Just yesterday, I bought 8 cars out of the UCD, and the list of "Want to drive" list just gets bigger and bigger.

Imo, don't just drive A spec, but go feel all those great cars, and go Online. It isn't as bad as people says, or just create a room with the name : GTP Race Only, and you'll discover a brand new game.

What he said! I was starting to linger on the opening menu and wonder what I was going to do. Then I went into my garage and started to check out some of the prize cars that I had never driven and the cars that I bought from the UCD. I started to just enter them into races with just an oil change and see how they faired against the rest of the pack. Surprisingly they did very well and with just a better set of tires and an air filter became very competitive. I then took these cars into B-spec and used them to level up some of my newer drivers. I found the B-spec with matched cars is much more interesting than just giving Bob a superior car and watching him drive around. I've witnessed some pretty intense battles, and even when Bob is killing them I can select a different car to put the camera on and see some pretty intense racing (something that has always made me mad about television coverage of motorsports events, they usually just keep the cameras on the leader). So even after a week of this kind of racing I still have many cars that I haven't even touched yet. I am seeing trends in My B-spec drivers as to what kind of cars they perform best in and on what tracks. Seems like a nice alternative when there is nothing on SPEED. I still haven't touched rally or endurance. I still haven't finished AMG academy and several other challenges. Seems to me that GT5 isn't over yet!! When an update comes out or new seasonal events I will have even more to do.

You know, at times, the amount of content doesn't make a game last long, even in multyplayer. Let alone single player.
1000 cars aren't a big deal if I don't feel the need to drive 850 of them.

I opened a thread with a related topic here. If you are interested in reading more opinions on this, please feel free to read, post and vote in the poll. :)

Well, everyone is different.
I love cars, and even if there was only one track I'd still play it like I play it now.
I know how you feel, when that happens to me I just go on youtube, watch Top Gear, it inspires me and I go back to GT5 and test the cars myself.

Well... I usually do the following:
Go to Speedhunters (for example), read up on a few cars I really like, buy them in GT5 (if available).
I then realise that I can't do much to the car, that I can't do what I'd like to do in real life, that I can't do what made the car interesting to me in the first place.

As a result, I switch GT5 off, an do something else.

I havent been playing very much either for the last few weeks.

I completed A-Spec to level 31 and with nothing left to do besides long endurance races it becomes quite boring. Same with B-Spec, I am level 30 there and I got tired of leaving my PS3 on all the time.

I tried online but it takes FOREVER to actually find a room then another 20 mins before the host decides to actually start the race......... only to have people running into each other 1/2 the time because the damage model in this game is terrible.

I recently signed up with iRacing and will probably be playing that for awhile. Not very enthusiastic about GT6 or buying the PS4 anymore. (prolly going to stick to PC games) GT3 was a pretty big step back from the other Gran Turismo games.

its been 4 days for me, spec a lvl30 and spec b lvl33 .. only the 2 24hrs of spec b left and i did 3 endurance of spec a that's it ... waiting for the new seasonal events

I played GT5 for about a week after it was released then stopped, didn't play it in about 3 weeks and just went back to it and am now having a ball.

I hit this wall a few weeks ago after doing the Le Mans 24 hour. I just said to myself, 'why'? .. 'why am I doing this'? 'It has no benefit to me or my life since it became a chore and not fun'.

I have since stopped grinding and also leaving my ps3 on all night to grind b-spec.

I turn it on when there are seasonal events but other than that I'm very meh about it and waiting for a new European GT Academy :/

I started to feel what you were feeling in late December. The offline portion of the game has too little events and online is a mess because they didn't do what Prologue did and offer their own events (not the Seasonal Events) and matchmaking. They could have done so much to the online portion of the game which would have made up for the lackluster events in GT Life.

Still loving it. So many gorgeous cars to drive, tracks to drive on, mods to perform. I even still love arcade mode, a well set up race can deliver more fun than online in my opinion. And then on top of that, I still have online!

I'm kind of Blah when it comes to GT5. I've had my fun, and now I spend my time playing BETTER racers.

GT5 has a lot of good points, but there is so little stuff to do it gets boring very quickly.

This isn't a rant, I bet a lot of you feel the same right now. The game has been out for a solid 4 months now more or less. Is anyone else essentially losing their mojo to continue with this game ?

more like just over 2 months. came out at the end of November, now it's the beginning of February :dopey: and probably beaten to that comment :dopey:

but for conversation's sake, no I'm not bored with this game. I can play GT non stop just practicing with cars I like. I haven't even touched arcade, track editor, or raced much online at all yet.

edit: still, I would like to get a PS2 and go back and play GT4 since I missed it :) Played forza/forza2 during that time period b/c I didn't have a ps2.

All PD need to do for unlimited gametime is to add Time Trial leaderboards on every track for every car. This would do it for me personally as I would just do lap after lap in my F10 to see how quick I can get compared to the rest of the world.

Because, in real life, race drivers drive all of the duration of an endurance race alone, right?

Simple solution: only a small number of saves per race. 2 or 3 for 24 hours seems okay.

On topic, I too have ended up not playing GT5 much at all. Even at my not-so-quick pace, I did most of the A-spec mode in a few days or so. Then I did a bunch of B-spec and kinda turned to setting up tons of cars to my liking. There just doesn't seem to be a whole lot of anything pulling me back to playing the game. Usually games entertain me for a while with the single player, then I turn to the multiplayer for the long run. Online just isn't all that interesting to me, there are no leaderboards or stat tracking or ranks or any winnings to speak of. Yeah, a few credits and XP are okay, but I can get that in A-spec and it's hard to find a room with restrictions that are even remotely close to anything I'd like to race... Eh...

I`m at level 37 a-spec, 40 on b-spec. Did alot of grinding, and once I won the red bull challenge and got all golds, I felt like I accomplished all I could in this game. There are too many restrictions in this game to make it fun. Not being able to sell your cars, not having more tuning options having some of the best cars in the game and not being able to use them in races. I could go on and on, it seems like the game was made with the intention of playing the game the way Kaz and crew wanted, and not the way I would like to. I feel I have no control over the way I want to play. Forza has well over 100 different races in the main mode, GT5 has 45 a-spec races. Thats too bad because I love the GT series but admittedly Forza has raised the bar on what we should expect from our games and the community. GT6 needs anew refreshing to revive the series, because they can't get away with just 1000 + cars again. Scrap the formula and start anew, they have the driving down, but the are behind in terms of actually making the game fun. They've made it a choir rather than fun than just driving. My girlfriend did some aut0cross with me in her mini cooper s, I drove my 350 z. She did very well actually beating alot of guys down there. When she tried GT5 in the same car it was so hard for her to just drive it half speed. I think GT5 is too hard and not realistic as it suggests. I mean being hard does'nt necessarily mean it`s realistic, it just lengthen it's life....which is frickin ironic?

I've played the game almost daily since nov. 26 and I can say is that I've enjoyed the game almost every single day.

Even though I consider the game a big letdown (maybe somewhat of a fail if you allow me) compared to what I expected from it, I have to say it's still a good game on it's own... So good enough I can return from college very very late in the night, extremely tired, dizzy, hungry and fed up with my classes... and I would still turn on my PS3 just to play 2 or 3 races before going to sleep... :)

I'm currently Lv. 32 A-Spec and 23 B-Spec... And I think the game still has reserved for me at least a month or two of gameplay... since the last 2 prize cars I really want are on Lv. 24 & 28 B-Spec...

Absolutely and that's great in a closed lounge with only friends, in fact I am starting a new championship which kicks off in 10 days that way. But the open lobbies are so unstable, if you are lucky enough to find someone who wants to race your way chances are the room will collapse and time out before a race gets going.

I only play online, why play against crappy ai and grind races to get another japanese car? Online you get good competionen and you can race clean for 50 laps just inches from each other.
Don´t know why people have problems with servers,, I play online almost everyday and i don´t have any problem with connection or latency. Of course you have to enter a server with low ping just like you do on any other game.... Make sure the connection bar is full or miss one and quality set to at least 4 stars.

You do realise that the teams tackle Le Mans (for example) with three drivers per car, each of them doing more than just one stint, right?

I believe a large part of this is the lack of momentum input. Its hard to adjust to "feeking" the movement of the car by "seeing" the results on screen.

Without the feeling of being thrown sideways in a croner or breaking/accel its much harder to figure out what's going on.

I would bet driving a race car remotely with a video camera and remote control would be similarly hard.

It's happened, I can't believe it. I literally have not started up Gran Turismo 5 for over a week now. I don't think I've completely moved on, but, the only things left are the endurance races. I'm not going to do them until the save is implemented in between pit stops. But nonetheless, I'm at a crossroad now. I'm only level 30 something A-Spec and B-Spec. I don't even remember now, (how sad is that ?) but I just don't feel motivated to play anymore. I have most of the rarest cars in the game, the online game-play is good every once in awhile when I was able to get in a room where the races don't take 20 minutes in between them b/c the host won't start the race. But other than that, I just feel like maybe I did lose money reserving this game? I love the gran turismo series, and I really think this is an amazing game, but I'm done already besides the endurance races. This just feels strange to me, maybe I'm just realizing it

Here is your solution.

personally I think saving during an endurance race would destroy the whole point of the race. So no offence to the OP but I hope you never do play it again.
