I picked up my Xbox 360 today...

Suprisingly at our local Target, at 9am this morning, not one of this bad boys had sold. I picked up the $399 package with the hard drive and the wireless controller. I haven't even opened up the box yet, I'm just excited as hell and thought I'd post this up. I'm going to go hook this damn thing in and get back to you all in a few days. :)
 
You are very lucky. I was supposed to work until midnight last night, but at 11pm there was 5 people waiting outside the Wal-Mart where I work. I called my manager and said "I got to go wait outside so I can guarantee myself one". He said whatever and let me leave, heh. So I waited from 11:15 until 8 AM just to get one of these things. We only had 23 of the Premium packages, and I was number 5 in line. :dopey: Unfortunately we didn't get any copies of Perfect Dark Zero in, so I just rented NFS: Most Wanted. It looks....good we'll say. :drool:
 
Let me get this straight. You had to wait in a line to buy one from the place you work? Or did I miss something here?

BTW, some pics and videos of the games running would be nice. :)

That's right. We don't get any special treatment as employees. Heck, even our store Manager's wife had to get in line to buy one for their nephew. But I got 10% off which was nice, from $567.xx down to $510.xx. :)
 
I've heard that Target is a great place to score gaming consoles on the limited supply. I think majority of people are rushing to BestBuy, Circuit City, Wal-Mart, etc. first. As a guy waiting for either Revolution or PS3 to come out, I'm so jealous you guys got your systems already. :D

Any pics? Any videos?? What games did you get? Whats your review so far? No one seems to be saying much at all about the system. I physically dont know a single person that bought the xbox360. They actually had extra ones at our local Target.

What's there to say, it's amazing. The only game I have is PGR, I tried to take pictures/video but it doesn't capture the detail.

It's funny that a couple of you say your local stores still have 360's. Because they are sold out everywhere, and people are paying over $1,000 for the core system on eBay.
 
Wow, how I would freaking LOVE to get one of these bad boys. I would probably rather get this than a paintball gun.


Walmart....preorders and they cost $570 for the cheapest bundle.

Wow, I wish stores were this honest around here. As a customer, of course. As an employee I would make sure to save me an Xbox360 without having to wait in lines. :D
 
Almost every store pre-orders, but who wants to drop $600+ and never know when they will get their system. (You don't have to pay in full, but it still sucks waiting for a phone call.)

eBay - You win the auction, you get your console in a couple days.

At least he's allowed to buy it from the place he works with a discount. I work at Best Buy, and they said that if we (the employees) wanted one, it would be without a discount and at a Best Buy where nobody knew us. Otherwise we had to go to another store.

What?! That's insane. Apparently at the launch of Halo 2 from my Wal-Mart they told employees who wanted to buy that they had to wait for the customers to finish, then see if there were any left. :yuck: I'm just happy nothing like that happened this time.

On another note, there are absolutely no 360's left anywhere here, heh. In fact most places got under-shipped (word?). Electronics Boutique at one of our main malls here took close to 200 pre-orders, then only got something like 70 systems. :scared: A lot of people got effed over, including one of my friends. Apparently he's 15th in line for the "second shipment". Who the hell knows when that will be.

Yet another note - The 360 is amazing. The graphics exceed my expectations, and look even better every time you load it up. The only game I'm going to buy is Perfect Dark Zero, but my Wal-Mart didn't even get any in (!), and EB's copies are all spoken for. I'm going to have to make some calls tomorrow. I rented Tiger Woods Golf and Need For Speed on Tuesday morning. Both games look friggin' great, but I'd have to say Tiger Woods is the better looking of the two. The detail on the courses, and especially on the player models is amazing. I'm loving it. I just can't wait for PDZ. :drool:

I sure am. I love it. Did you get my message last night? :odd: I've played online Co-op as well as Deathmatch. But if I'm playing with someone I know I usually want to play Co-op. :D Have you unlocked the Dark Agent mode yet?

And for anyone else that's online with a 360, add me to your friends list. My gamertag is Thee Predator. I have Perfect Dark Zero and Need for Speed Most Wanted.

Perfect Dark is the only game I own right now. I get payed on Friday and I'm thinking about picking another game up. Possibly Need for Speed. I rented it and liked it a lot, it looks great and it's much less "Underground-ish" which is good. Everyone's been telling me "zomg COD2!!", is it really that good?

I feel the same about WWII shooters, so it'd have to be the most amazing game ever made if I were to buy it.

About PGR, I played the 2nd one at a friends a while back, and I really couldn't get into it. I didn't like the feel of the controls, and the cars weren't that great in my opinion. Eh, maybe I'll give PGR3 a rental though. I think NFS is great. 👍 Do you have it? I'm really looking for someone who has NFS for 360, I think it'd be great to race online with some folks that I know. I find online play a lot more enjoyable when playing with people I know. :)

And yeah I made you a preferred player, I think you're at 5 stars now. ;)

I work on my own in a separate depot which is why i get to mess around on here most of the day. But i have it well guarded and i am going to take it home at dinner time and get it fired up.
