Hey guys, and gals..I have owned POS cars so far (3, 88 dodge aires, 82 oldsmobile delta 88, and currently an 89 toyota camry) and I've decide to stick my hands in and get them dirty on a 240 sx..which hopefuly sometime down the road I would drop a Sr20DET engine in and do some other mods..(suspension, body, etc..)

I was wondering if anyone had suggestions on how to go about this :)


my ultamite goal is to get it to look and perform as close to a silvia as possible.


Any input at all is appreciated
 
o, btw, this is a project far down the road..I wouldn't even consider buying a 240 sx for atleast 6 months..I'm just looking into it now because I wanna be as informed as possible about the car b4 I go and do it
 
Welcome to GTPlanet, I havent had any experience with 240sx's. I have quite abit of experience on silvias and 180sx's (I once owned one). There are a few members here that that have done the SR20DET conversion so they can give you more details on the KA24-SR20 conversion. What model 240sx's are you getting?

I have a S13 also.. but i swapped the CA18det for a SR20DET (black top not red) i might be able to help u if u have some questions...
 
The first thing I would tell you is to join all the big Nissan message boards (240sxforums.com, zilvia.net, 240sx.org, freshalloy.com, etc). If you just read through the FAQ's and other threads, you should be able to learn quite a bit. My only advice to you is to NOT post a thread like this on any of those boards. They'll rip you apart. They get threads like this all day, every day, and they've apparently gotten tired of it. Just read the threads and don't bother posting until you get your car. If you're looking for an answer to something, use the search button. Every forum has one and I can almost guarantee that whatever the question, it's probably been asked before.
