I really like the online lobby system in GT5

This is truly one of my favorite features of this game. I like how you can just cruise around on the track and talk to players while they are finishing their race. I believe Live For Speed had this same feature. Now we dont have to sit around bored in the lobby waiting for the next race. Plus it gives some time to test out cars and get to know the track a little before the race. 👍

That is good indeed for setting up private races with friends.

Searching for a decent lobby to play with strangers is another story though..

Search filters are desperately needed for open lobbies in the next update.

I do wish there was a way to invite friends into the game. I need to figure out an easier way to do that. My friend was on yesterday and I couldnt figure out how to invite him into the game I was playing.

In the main menu from GT Mode, your friend can click in the comunity, choose your name, and click on the coffee cup that says lounge i think...

And can join your room.

I think thats the way to do it.

Yes I did something like that to find the specific room I have been racing in lately. But I was mainly talking about an instant invite by just clicking a friends name and hitting "invite". I will let him know about the community and the coffee cup.

There's a way to search for the specific room number. It's a long code though, something like xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx, but it works. You'd have to message him with the room code and he can enter no problem.

I take you've never played with people that hop on to the server and immediatedly DEMAND the race to be started and then stylishly crash on the first corner on the first lap and promptly quit the race. 👍

Nope havent played with those people yet. The room I have been running in is a shuffle room. The track is voted on by the players and the cars are picked random like a slot machine by the game. Something new each race. Plus you get the excitement of hoping you get a premium car while everyone else is stuck in a standard car.

As far as i know you cant cruise around the track while the others are finishing their race. You can only join as a spectator, until the race is over.
