There seems to be no option to turn off the original tracks completely. Even when you select to play YOUR music in races and replays, Kaz still forces his loud annoying s*** on us, usually the first race you start, and you have to restart the race to get your tracks to play. This needs to be patched out.
 
Go to the gallery and delete all of the on-disc tracks from the playlist. Just like in GT5, when the custom soundtrack feature is turned on from the options menu, it mixes your songs with the ones from the playlists of on-disc songs.
 
Or turn off the BGM all together and listen to your own library while playing. Honestly though, maybe you should just stop playing in general. If this is enough to get your panties in a twist without even trying the options menu before posting a butt hurt comment, the community may be better off without you.

Ok I missed that, thanks. Assumed it would be in the, you know, SOUND OPTIONS

Just curious, what kind of music do you listen to?
 
The soundtracks in GT are always good, prefer to drive with them. With my own music is hard to focus I think.

Well that's dumb. Using personal music should automatically disable PD's offerings. It's not like the artists are getting paid per spin!

User BGM is a known source of freezing within the game.

Then James Bond music, Knight Rider theme, and various tv and movie music. Stuff that makes me drive even harder :D

Except "Sound Options" usually refer to the sounds as opposed to the music.
 
Anybody know what song plays during the Novice and B events when you're in the pre-race screen? That sweet rock track. Much better than the whiny pop song playing during the later events.

This is how I would prefer it worked anyway. Some of the tracks in the GT6 library are fantastic, like daiki kasho, though I'm learning with each new Gran Turismo how awful today's music is.

The patch broke personal BGM. Just saying it worked fine before I updated. .

Custom bgm never worked well on gt5, it's broken here too, it even give you the freeze glitch like someone said here.
Best solution: disable it, turn your radio/computer/whatever on and play whatever you like. Even though i like gt6 menu and pre race music, while racing i prefer to have instrumental rock stuff like joe satriani or tony macalpine.

What if I like the GT6 soundtrack but want to add a few of my own tracks as well? I wish more games worked that way actually, most just turn off the regular soundtrack when you add custom music.
 
As I did on GT5: BGM off, second stereo, Pandora.
