Cardigans My Favorite Game
Then James Bond music, Knight Rider theme, and various tv and movie music. Stuff that makes me drive even harder :D
I turm the music off completely and i drive harder...

I'm sure "forcing his music" on you was surely the intent of this feature not working properly.

👍 Nice. And that's the thing. He didn't ask a question nor ask for help. Just a rant.

Go to the gallery and delete all of the on-disc tracks from the playlist. Just like in GT5, when the custom soundtrack feature is turned on from the options menu, it mixes your songs with the ones from the playlists of on-disc songs.
This solution was given without the OP asking if there's anything that can be done to fix the problem (or if it's just a glitch, which I thought/think it was).

I enjoyed GT5's menu music enough that I'm using it for this generation. Mainly the Classical covers.

Musical tastes, how do they work?

Meh, I'd rather just listen to PD's selection of music and call it a day. That, and Daiki Kasho. Can't really hate on his music unless you think all rock music is emo/awful/whatever.

User BGM is a known source of freezing within the game.
Maybe it's a GT6 problem. I use my custom BGM in GT5 and plan on using it in GT6 as well. Never had the game freeze on me because of that.

I've been hearing about it being a problem for some people w/ GT5 for ages.
In fact, I don't even know if anyone's yet posted about it being a problem with GT6.
I've always assumed it might have to do with hard drive space or the age of the PS3 or whatnot, since I know that it didn't happen to everybody. Just that people mentioned it often enough to know that many did have a problem w/ it.

Fair enough. My PS3's relatively new. I only use my custom BGM for track situations though, not for the menu as GT menu music is perfect.

It only took me 2 days to get tired of the GT6 music, so I turned the BGM off, and turned on my internet radio.

Here's a suggestion: how about PD incorporate a selection of streaming radio stations, or let you supply your own? It works well in Euro Truck Simulator 2

Maybe. My PS3 freezes sometimes when I play WipeOut HD or Twisted Metal, with my personal music.

But.. with GT5 NEVER! :D

👍
If it were not for this thread, I might never even have known about a game where one could experience hauling cargo between Budapest & Warsaw, AND listen to streaming internet radio in the tractor cab of a virtual lorry. If the creators of that game could get together with Amazon, maybe they could come up with a game where one can simulate piloting drone deliveries of socks coffee & Garfield calendars to their neighbors. They could have micro-transactions to open the curtains in the upper levels of the houses getting the deliveries. :sly:

Was writing the word "censored" in the thread title really necessary when I already censored it out as "s#!%y" originally?

Sure that didn't happen automatically?

I've got a selection of GT classics on my playlist (Ash, Cubanate, Garbage, Satriani) plus lots of Maiden, Priest, Purple, Saxon....anything that drives my foot to the floor!

Only one tune on the GT6 list worth listening to......"Pearl's Girl" by Underworld.

The "stutter" or "freezing" that comes with the custom track list vanishes after you've played songs from it enough times. I just added a few more tracks from GT1 and the stutter returned. I guess the game has to load it a few times.

lots of Maiden, Priest, Purple,
This is what I expected the OP to report wanting to hear after complaining about "Kaz's silly music". :sly:

But now I know that the most serious driving music is the theme from Knight Rider.

Which, I have learned, may have been based on this
But which has always reminded me of Mozart's Symphony No 40 in G Minor.

Ok, so I've dumped all of Kaz's music in the "Gallery". It plays my music in the menu, but now plays no music during races. I've checked every setting that I can find (doesn't mean there aren't more hiding), and my music should be playing.

Just did that too. And the game throws a hissyfit and doesnt play ANYONE'S music. I even restarted the races a few times to get it to shuffle the track, and still nothing. So, I added just ONE of Kaz's tracks, the intro music, and now it will play my music. Kaz, you're such a douche.

I seem to have cracked it - put all your music in a playlist and point GT6 at that. Make sure the 'play mode' is set to 'Repeat - Folder'. I've also got mine set to Shuffle. Been working seamlessly since I did all that.

GT6 music in the menus, my tunes (and JUST my tunes) during the races.

The soundtracks in GT are always good, prefer to drive with them. With my own music is hard to focus I think.

Yeah one of the Guitar rifts just before novice races is highly addictive, I found myself bopping to it! :-)
