Actually it's fairly boring, but I'll tell it anyway. So I recently started having back issues. Usually I ignore them and they go away after a couple days. This time around I waited a couple weeks, and when it got to the point I couldn't sit in a chair for more than a few minutes, I decided to look into it. I know some people don't like chiropractors, but I wasn't sure what else to do, so I saw one anyway.

First things first, X-Rays were taken and they are not pretty. (see below) I was told this could be up to 8 years in the making, and it'll take 6 months to fix it. I guess 28 years old is the new 60.

Photo 1: Here you can see the my left hip is actually quite a bit lower than my right hip. This also shows the not so straight line of my spine, and the line where it should be. Hard to make out but I guess I also have a bone growth on the left side that he said is nothing to worry about....

Black hole on my right side is where my gallbladder used to reside? Can anyone confirm?

Photo 2: Here you can see my hips from the side and my lower back. Got a vertebrae that is just a bit out of line.

Photo 3: This shows my upper neck and base of my skull. There's a vertebrae at the top there that, when viewed from the side, you should never be able to make out that it's a ring. I'm about 20 degrees tilted.

Photo 4: And this shows the "curve" in my spine. Not from the side, but from the back. Yeah...

And there you have it. Scheduled for 3 adjustments per week for the next month or so, then it slows to to 2, then 1 for a grand total of 6 months at $150/mo. Which isn't too bad I guess. :indiff:

I hope it alll works out for you man. I can't imagine how painful it is.

Been better as of late, doesn't help I sit at a desk all day. I try to get up and walk around every hour or so.

I suppose that's really all you can do. I know a few friends of mine have really bad MS and they are pretty much confined to a wheelchair now so any vertebrae problem is very serious, at least in my eyes. Especially having nerve problems myself stemming from that area.

Hope your treatment is a success. I went in for a standing desk after getting neck and back pains from sitting on a PC all day, it really solved the problem.

I had a couple of major back pains one lasted about a week and I'm 15! If I try to curve my back Hurts like crazy!!

Is this something in your family history or do you think it's something you developed over a long period of time?

Wow, you're pretty crooked, dude. Lets hope your treatment will go down well, keep us posted

Not sure if it runs in the family. I figure it's years of bad posture come back to haunt me.

Looks bad man. Hopefully everything's alright after 6 months of treatment.

A suggestion for after the treatment is over. Try hitting the gym with a weight lifting program designed to correct posture. Since I was 8 (!) years old people kept telling me about my bad posture. 2 years ago, after constantly living with back pain, I started hitting the gym (I'm 21 now), and have all but fixed it. Never been to a chiropractor.

Good luck 👍.

I do plan on hitting the gym but for other reasons. Just waiting for the pain to go away...

Try walking. It sounds weird I know. But your body is making constant adjustments as you walk and it strengthens the core stomach and back muscles.

Then when you feel a little better, try swimming. Build up your strength in a gentle way so that you do not do any more damage. Only then would I join a gym.

Hope it all turns out well as we have no ambulances in GT5 to cart you away in. ;)

Yeah like I said I try to get up and walk around for a bit during the day. The worst part is the initial standing up and walking after sitting for a while. Not the best feeling in the world. Once I'm up and waking around for a few minutes I feel normal.

Was the uneven height of the hips being pointed to as the cause of your spine not being straight?

Because if so, my father has had that and all you need to fix that problem is to get your shoes customized to bring your hip to an even height. My dad used to not be able to sleep from his back pains. Then they made X-rays and found out his spine was in a incorrect position due to his one leg being shorter than the other, and thus bringing the hip at an uneven height. He now gets all of his shoes customized and he hasn't had one single complaint from his back since he got his first pair of customized shoes.

Best of luck with the treatment, hope it works out and you can enjoy life pain free. 👍

I hope you get well as soon as possible and live comfortably, mate! Painful spine and neck issues are no joke.

I'll tell you a secret. Getting regular adjustments isn't going to do anything to help you. It's like straightening a radio tower without any guy wires attached. You need to do traction and weightlifting to set in any kind of change.

Also, you're getting ripped off. For $150/month, you should be getting treatment every day, or the 3 adjustments per week plus massage therapy.

Those xrays don't have enough resolution to definitely show any kind of vertebral abnormality. Truth is, your back looks pretty good. The only thing is that your neck is a little straight/forward, so you'll need to do traction to reestablish the natural curve. Everything else is a product of how your muscles are holding your body.

Good luck I have a very bad feeling that I have the exact same issue after I slipped a disc in my back a few years ago. Been having neck issues and now my shoulder is also having issues.

Swiming is the best, I garentee you.
Some people say, and I read about it, is to fix your Atlas.
One day i'll go to fix it too...

Good Luck, Jason, hope everything works out for you, man, and you can go back to crouching under those pegs and looking for stashes of HW THs.

Good advice from Milldrum about walking (with proper posture) and swimming; this should help strengthen your back. Sitting isn't really healthy exercise. Once again - sorry to hear this and hope everything works out and you feel like 28 again. ;)

Since I have nothing wrong with my back I'll have no excuse but to bust it again as usual today. :)

While exercise does generally help against backpain (it did for me), it is not a solution if he's in the same case as my dad where one leg is slightly shorter than the other. Exercise like running is even worse in this case, as you are just delivering even more stress onto a spine that is already in an incorrect position.

The only way I was able to copy the x-rays was to tape them to my sliding glass door and take photos of them, so they didn't come out 100%. Traction excersizes are part of the program and will start shortly. The price I am paying is actually cheaper than his original quote, and after I was declined for the credit program, the last step was to make automatic payments every month. I honestly didn't know what else to do.

I think my Mom once told me that I had one leg shorter than the other. I'll bring that up to him this morning when I go in. That does make sense.

I hope everything works out for you and you can get back to making some awesome Hot Wheels! :sly:👍

Asked about the "short leg" and he said I do have a short leg, but it's because of the twist in my hips that is causing it. And the black hole in my right side on the x-ray is just gas I guess. Maybe I should have farted before taking the x-rays.

What did he mean with twist, though? Because if your one leg is indeed shorter, than I'd imagine it's the leg which causes you to have an unbalanced hip, and not the other way round. I'm not really sure whether you should invest that kind of money in the guy. For all I know, you could have the exact same thing my dad had and you'd be fixed with your shoes customized according to the "missing space" of the shorter leg.

I'm not educated in this, but I'm just throwing it out here so you're at least aware of it 👍
