@Tidgney, did you published your traditional guide about how to approach the TT with the Honda at the Lago Maggiore?

Am I wrong or none have done it?
I am 4 thousandths slower for gold... and it is quite frustrating missing the gold for nothing...

Right before I had to leave for a birthday visit I ran a few lap on thr GP layout, gearing difference is huge in terms of laptimes, had a very descent split before the final chicane .704 but stuffed up the last corner ....chickened out and blew it 🤣🤣

I think I am going to do another session on this one cause a sub 21 is definitely possible IF all goes right 🤣🤣

After a flurry of time-trialing over the past weeks I can share these (random) thoughts:

1. The Opel at Road Atlanta is nutty. Understanding that the car turns best when off the brake, I still couldn't execute sector 1 properly for a LONG time. T1 is simple enough, just floor the throttle, chuck the car in, lift-off briefly if needed. The left and then blind right-hand always gives me problems. I ended up watching the top replay, noting the speed at turn in and apex points, and then trying to mimic that. I can't drive the Opel intuitively no matter what I'm doing 😡but just memorizing the mph I needed to be at during different parts of the turns helped me. I needed to brake hard to about 118mph, then coast through the blind right-hander apex at about 112mph and only then mash the throttle on the way out. Still didn't achieve a great time but hopefully it's good enough . I found myself over-braking most of the time and then getting left in the dust.

More random thoughts, the electric motor sound is nice but... I'm hearing what sounds like an aluminum trash can rattling any time I to speed in this thing. Is the body made out of tin foil or something? :boggled: I'm hoping that I don't need to go back!!

2. The Elantra N is cool. Unlike the Opel I find myself going back to this one to try to improve.

Hello friendos!

Quick update from me as currently the only trial I am participating in is the Honda Racing eMS… I don’t even know what we are competing for but competition is STIFF! I had a really good session today with some reasonable improvement and now a tiny droplet of hope that I’ll finish within the world top 100; my theoretical ‘perfect’ lap time is under 1:39.3 so if I get one more chance to try maybe just maybe I’ll nail that all..

Until then this was a good stab.

In the Honda eMS TT I can get to 0’52.250 and ~.300 at the split on the back straight fairly regularly but can never properly get through the incredibly stupid banky boi corner, the amount of time loss there is insane, around three to 4.5 tenths!:confused::confused:

I spent 2 hours to get this. Note that this is a time 💩 on a VGT of 💩 . I'm sorry for these words but frankly I'm disgusted with these VGT and the turn that GT7 takes by putting them on TT.
Certainly, some people find their pleasure there but not me. I don't understand that a game like GT which is based on production and GT cars can offer cars that are not cars. Yes I know, you're going to tell me that it's funny. Well no.
Yeah the car really is a piece of crap.

Were you using the Boost feature on the car? I was unable to get below 3% until I discovered that.
Yes, I used it in the same places as @Tidgney . But I really struggled on the first corner to have the same speed as him and on the sequence of turns 2, 3 and 4 (I think) I lost a lot of time. In other words, on the essential parts of the circuit

Morning folkieees

Man this is frustrating!
I threw away a lot of low 7's on the split end sector 3, all killed by that last corner, it isn't even the chicane I am bad at, but it's that last turn, it just feels akward like always, nomatter how you take it 🤣

This was a .780 split, a bit of a save reseved chicane....and a last corner.

So still no 21 🤣🤣

Mik Hızal did a guide too. His ghost is available in game too.

I know it's getting old but I am pretty sure that it's a controller thing again. It is just impossible to get the wheel rotation that is possible with a wheel. Because of that you can't floor at the same time the wheel users can.

Caveat: I'm a mediocre pad player and only really believe that because a pad alien like you has troubles there which support my suspicion. I had the same feeling as you regarding banky boy but I can never be sure if it's just me sucking.

Thanks also for this guide.
This morning I managed to reach gold but in the meantime the aliens started to fight each other again and I am poorly gold with a margin of 0,025…

I don’t think to spend other time on that.
I am driving with automatic transmission because I already struggle in breaking in the right moment and doing the proper trajectory that I don’t feel comfortable to add another element of complication.

The track is long and quite articulated in many different elements.
To do the best lap you need to do everything right in every single element… and it is so easy to be wrong in just one point and then to ruin the full lap.

Today is a sunny Sunday and I will go out to walk a little bit hoping that none other alien will do any further improvement…

By the skin of my teeth… 100th means top 100 right???

Look Down I Love Lucy GIF

I did have a little session and improved in all areas but I reckon it takes a good hour to hook in and absolutely nail the timing, I was just getting into my grove with some mega fast S1 and S2 times, there was a 1:39.2xx if I had started it sooner but still, no mean feat!

Just a question of what to push onto next, I have very limited time now so I might just skip these for the week

It looks like my gold medal streak is coming to an end with the Opel... 😭😭😭

Not that I don't like the car or the track, but it's too fast for me... And we don't have to worry about the gearbox...😂

I've taken 1,000 starts (that's annoying too), I've crashed 300 times into the barriers at turn 1 and the same number at T4, the left-hander at the top of the hill, and I'm at 9.3, which is 1 second off gold... (or even more to give myself some leeway)...

I can't do better than 25.6 in S1 and 52.5 at the end of S2, when I need 25‘ and 51’......

It's not particularly unpleasant, but it's too fast, do I not have the reflexes or what?... I don't know....🤔🤔😂

It doesn't matter, we'll wait for the next one.......:gtpflag:

Honestly, this will sound weird but don’t try to over drive it. Coasting and early throttle is your friend.

Weirdly for its speed you don’t have to brake a lot and when you do make it very on off.

You’ve got this, just do a few laps building up

The results for TT163 at Autodrome Lago Maggiore - Full Course in the Honda NSX CONCEPT-GT '16 are over here. I have updated the opening post with the index of all TTs and the second post with the community scoreboards. A reminder that each driver's results for every TT is in the Excel file attached to the latest results post.

I meant to do an update on Eiger, but the scraping crashed, and since it takes about 2 hours these days (Sony or PD sludge practices), it will have to follow in Thursday.

Well, that was rough!

Mh, not to be a complaining Debbie Downer but yeah, I think it was far from optimal in that corner. The rest of lap was fine and I could follow Hizal quite well but bled way too much time in that one corner. Sure, I never really liked that corner ever since it entered the GT world back in 2017 but I don’t think it was all down to incompetence by yours truly. To compare with Laguna Seca in the Corvette CX.R, the big issues there were when it wasn’t flat, like the more angled corners after the corkscrew, kinda same thing here.

Quite comically, what ends up being my best lap I’m with 95% of the car in the sand exiting banky boi (see the thumbnail above), far from optimal but it worked out okay. Anyway, whatever, it’s out of the way now.

One thing that was quite impressive to witness was the duel for the WR, Suzuki had it yesterday at 38.889, Alu came and took it by a thousandth (.888), Suzuki today defended the throne and set IIRC a .870 which Alu yet again came back and bested with a .861 but finally with very little time left Suzuki put the nail in the coffin with a seriously strong .821. My compliments. That truly is absurdly quick.

I hopped on the ELANTRA N Lap Time Challenge ‘cause they’re giving away sick prizes like a Logitech wheel. From what I’ve seen, most of the fast folks are hitting around 2:20, so I definitely gotta grind more if I wanna climb the board. Right now I’m still stuck over 2:40 tho 😭.

You're the second person to say that - but where are you finding this information? The event is configured like a normal time trial, whereas those that offer prizes usually require an additional T&Cs read-through and a click.

Ah gotcha, guess I was missing some info… looks like Hyundai N is running a separate event where you do the ELANTRA N challenge in-game and then post your lap time on their page to score the prizes.
