Which in this case means Used Car Disease. I cannot save up for anything large like an FGT or an F1 car because there are so many tasty and appealing cars popping up in my UCD. Just when I get my money correct I get hit with an F1 GTR, or a R390 Race car, or an Oreca Viper, or a Speed 8. I figure the next time I get over 5 million I should probably get tempted by a CLK GTR or something of the like.

Damn you GT5 and your never ending string of super cars for me to blow my cash on.

Wow, I thought I was the only one:guilty:. Its like every time I get to at least a million, a rare car catches my attention and there goes my money.

I have the same problem, but with new cars. I think I'm finally ready to save up for a Formula GT though. I recently bought a Zonda which is the last new car that I was dying to get. With my luck though, the online dealership will refresh by the time I get the needed 4.9 million.

Haha. I suffer from exactly the same.

But fortunately, seasonal events are here to help us. 👍

Same here, but the further you get in the game you get, the more money you earn and the less you'll be buyng cars, because you will already have them.

I set a limit - for every 3 million I earn, I spend 1 million, then when I get to 17 / 18 /19 / 20 million, I buy a 5-10 million car.

Then I start all over again, for every 3 spend 1.

Most of the cars are repeated, so if you miss one it's not the end of the world, you will see it again eventually, or you can pick up a trade in the GT5 market place..

I have a similar budget...for every 3M I earn, I spend 3M on cars.....:D

I finally forced myself to stop so I could get the LMP cars I wanted. I started with the 908 but then kept buying used cars like crazy. I finally made myself stop looking at the UCD. Now I have the R10 and today I will have the 787B. :)

Then it's back to the UCD.

Gotta catch 'em all!

Dont worry, eventually we'll end up buying all the rare cars in the used car dealership, then maybe we can save up enough money to be able to mod them!

I do the same thing.

The worst is if you end up winning the car later.
Happened to me with the Cobra and the seven fireblade.
Almost bought the GSX/R-4 too.

I'm at the point, where I need to be banned from visiting the UCD..... It's become an love/hate relationship with that place! I go race the British lightweight race to generate some fast money, only to come back to the UCD and see that the car I wanted is gone, that's the worst... But then again, when I manage to get it, it's pure pleasure....! I love the random joys you get out of it

I had to suck it up and save for the FGT and Peugeot 908 LMP car that I wanted badly.
Now that I have those I can snatch up anything and everything that seems interesting in the used car lot. These are mostly ordinary cars, not the race cars, as I seem to keep floating right around 2 mil cr.

Me too.. I really want a Bently Speed 8 but I keep spending my money and when it comes up I am always 1 mil or more short.

On the bright side I have lots of cool cars now :)

I feel your pain, I try and get some credits for a car I need and something turns up in the UCD that I just can't resist, a lotus carlton, an RS200, a RUF ..... one day I might have enough credits to tune them!

Its a vicious cycle, Do 3 or 4 races check the UCD do 3 or 4 races check the UCD.

It would be nice if more cars were in the UCD at once, and if they stayed a bit longer so you have a chance to save up for some of them. I mean the whole reason for the online dealer seems to be making up for the fast moving UCD, why not just improve the UCD a bit?

I too seem very guilty of this. I recently completed the Skyline Seasonal event and ended up with around about 1,400,000 Cr. with the million on top of what I had.

I now have 150,000 Cr. And I didn't even spend it on anything like a race car...

This is why I really preferred the UCD being random, a lot of people hate it (which I can understand, but that reason is more or less gone now thanks to the online dealer) but seeing what you get given is far more fun than just going to a dealer and buying it there and then.

I have problems, too, I think I bought all of these during my grinding for the FGT:

Lotus Carlton
Alfa Romeo Spider 1600 Duetto
Toyota Altezza AS200 (don't ask)
Buick GNX
Toyota MR2 GT-S
Honda Life Step Van
Ruf CTR2
Amuse S2000 GT1
Isuzu Bellett 1600 GT-R
Lancer Evolution IV Rally Car
Peugeot 205 T16
Evo VIII RS
Supra RZ
Caterham Seven
Lotus Motor Sport Elise
BP Falken RX-7
Spoon Civic Type R
Civic 1500 3 door
Suzuki Kei Works
Subaru Legacy B4 Blitzen
Blitz ER34
Evo VII GSR
Golf I GTI
Integra Type R
Civic Type R 01
Skyline GT-R V-Spec R33
Civic Type R 04
Spoon S2000 Race Car
RX-7 Type R Bathurst R
Nismo 270R
Evo VII RS
Honda Beat Version F

Plus 6 premiums.

Seriously, according to my garage, I bought all of those, plus the FGT, between the 8th and 10th of December...

Add to this the fact that I can never save over 1,000,000cr because of the Enzo, McLaren F1, all the GT300/500 cars that cost 950,000 or so, the WRC cars and the Trans Cammer and Art Morrison C1. After I buy most of those I'll probably save for the 787B and GT Spec II Test Car, though I'm about to check that I won't win them from some other race.

I have just saved up 5.7mill credits after couple days of grinding, was hugely tempted to go blow it all on some cars I did not have but resisted and just bought the yellow hat supra instead. It is very tempting though, and I am also guilty of doing this before on more than 1 occasion.

Totally guilty of this.

I just find old cars irresistible, to the extent that not so long ago I saw a bloke drive past in an *immaculate* Vanden Plas Maestro and I found myself nodding in appreciation.

At a *Maestro* - surely one of the ugliest cars of the 80s.

Any time I get any money and see something remotely unusual in the UCD I have to buy it.

Worse still, I've now taken to buying things twice if I think I can trade them, such as M3s, 205 T16s, ZZ-S etc.

That said, it did earn me a GT LM Racecar for a Yellowbird, so I can't complain too much

One more side effect of this debilitating UCD is avoiding purchasing premium cars, because they can be had at any time.

I feel like once Ive got all the UCD cars then I can move on to the premium dealership. I've been meaning to pick up the Mclaren F1 for a few days now, but I keep blowing the money and putting it off since its a premium and always available.

I end up following a similar pattern. Fortunately I already went and got an FGT. (Thanks PD for the online dealership, or I'd never wait to see one) It's all the same though, I can't drive the FGT worth a crap so my B-spec driver uses it for grinding.

My particular pattern is pretty close to.

Do some races.
Check UCD.
Buy about four or five cheap cars and maybe a pricey one.
Spend twice as much as I paid for all of them tuning up only one of them.
Drive one lap on my test track.
Realize the car sucks and leave it in my garage forever.
Forget about the other cars I bought entirely.
Do some races.
Check UCD...

Etc...

Etc...

:)

I managed to get up to about 15 mil and bought a 908 (nice car). Of course there were the odd 5 or 6 cheap ones there that I wanted as well in the UCD. Bought a few Premiums, and a few more Used. Then the 905 came up so there went another 4.5 million plus my obsession with a chassis and engine overhaul (now has 839 HP untuned... not bad for 750 Kg, tuned would be 919 HP). I have been doing some racing though to get money. I had been racing a tuned BMW 2002 Turbo in the Extreme Euro Rome race for cash to pay for it. Bought from UCD plus engine and chassis (doh!)(I already had the prize one, but this was metallic green). Won c.1 million Credits with it. Then I bought a TVR Griffith 500 and raced that until I had paid for the car, engine and chassis overhaul and better tyres... At least made a profit on that (so to speak) and managed to reach Lv 31 A spec.

I have been waiting for the NOMAD Diablo forever (it seems) but have probably missed it due to the length of some events. Then there was this Nissan R89C...

My name is Acehole and I am also a used car addict. Early on I managed to save up quite a decent amount of credits in GT 5. But as it stands now I have less then 2500. I bought a few used cars for various races I needed to do. Then it took over my life. First it was a Ford RS00 for 70000 or so when I really needed a classic European car. I managed to claw back some of the money I wasted on that. But then my addiction took over, I saw a 2000 Mustang Cobra R, I had to have it. So now I'm broke, great.

I have had a tendency to stay in there as well, but it is a luxury now since I have most of the new stuff that I want. Take a two day break and grind up some creds and go from there.
